  • This is not really helpful.

    Hard drives can fail in so many different ways. What if the motor fails? How bout scratched platter? And the ones with more than couple thousand of unrecoverable bad sectors? Dead bios? Heat damage? Shock? Head park problem? And the ones that sounds like scratching sandpaper? Seek problem? Bad on board memory? Sorry, I've been in this field for too long, can resist.
