At the heart of Maasailand, east of the Great African Rift Valley, lies a Tarangire National Park of wild beauty and diverse natural history. Being in the wilderness zone allows Oliver's Camp the freedom to offer walking excursions close to the camp, as well as longer walking adventures in the endless woodlands and plains habitat that surrounds the area. Carefully planned off road driving in the camp's open vehicles is another privilege enjoyed by guests visiting the area, something that is not readily available in other national parks in northern Tanzania. Tarangire National Park has the highest number of elephants in the whole of the northern Tanzania parks, exceeding Lake Manyara and Serengeti. There have also been a 550 bird species recorded in the Tarangire National Park, making a sure pleaser for any bird lover.
