      It works because the liquid is very cold. When you put the top on and give it some time the liquid starts to heat up. When that happens it expands and blows the top off. Cool video!

      On several variables, actually.

      The more liquid you use, the colder the canister is and longer it takes to warm up.

      Along with that is ambient air temperature. If it's really warm inside, the pressure will build really fast.

      I was able to get about 10 - 30 seconds max.
