C'mon buddy. The battery is sealed for one thing.. You aren't putting water in the battery. The battery is also a chemical reaction, which does not use water as a reagent.

When you heat up any battery it will put out more energy than it will when it is cold.. As soon as the battery cools down you are back to square one. :) Nice try though.
Lastly, you are actually wasting more energy from the battery because of the conductivity of the water while it is in the pot.7790791 - ok
The battery uses an alkaline solution to conduct energy, when the solution is dried up the battery life is over, unless you can get more liquid into the battery. Most battery seals are not good which is why they won't recharge without leaking.

it speeds up the reaction of the last remaining bits of electrolyte in the battery. It works for a short bit, then truly stone dead. Its like rolling up an empty tube of toothpaste to get the last bits out. You can do the same thing with glowsticks that are almost dead. They get real bright, then gone for good.

Same thing with what in my village of my country doing. They put the empty batteries in the direct sunlight. It recharges more actually, but much slower rcharge.

The energy used to heat the pot of water would probably be around .60 cent and you probably only extend the life of the battery by 10%. so if you do this 10 times for the same bateries thats .60 cent times 10 = $6.00

Lead, Cadium and Mercury are toxic, the toxins will leave residue in the pot. The heat may not be exciting the molecules, the water may be getting in the battery and it provides a source for the electrolytes.

cooling down from average of 15 degrees to 0 (15 degrees difference) - but heating up water from 15 degrees to 95 (almost boiling) is 80 degrees difference. Plus: A freezer chest is insulated best. A pot is not so perfectly build: if you put a top on the pot the water will boil quicker. And still it`s not the best way...
