I used a Fortress Combonation lock and I can get all 3 numbers in 12 seconds. I didn't use any tools, no pen and paper, ALSO If you can't get your first number, before even doing step one, spin the dial to the right 3 full times. This will clear out any previous numbers. DO NOT do anything illegal from this video. For Educational Purposes ONLY!

Same thing happened to me.
I tested my cheap import dial lock to make sure it would not do this. Next thing I know, I popped open the dumb lock while looking at the back of it and pulling up while turning the dial back and forth. Your post is valuable as a public service announcement never to trust these locks with anything more than your lunch, and maybe not even that.

  look it up and theres like 73 ways to open it. pretty sad. i use sphero master they r waayyy harder to hack but it will be hacked, it will take about 2 hrs to hack it though a little better XD

  i tried to crack a friends combo, just for fun, he has a master lock, and i guessed the numbers and it opened. he said i was off by 2 or 3 each number but it still opened! maybe theres no such thing as a trustworthy combination lock anymore.

generic lock
of course fortress is a generic lock too. Try doing this with a combination master lock. Let me see you do that. Besides... who's going to be going around all day looking for a particular brand of combo lock just so they can pick it.

Don't get me wrong... great addition to Metacafe. Just something most people consider useless information. Useful to some i guess. if those people just hap upon this by random chance or great search engine skills.

master's are easy to open aswell
don't trust the master locks, they're easily opened, both the padlocks and combination ones. just search master locks on metacafe and it'll come up. there are some easy ways of opening them. Trust Dudley, they're not too common and hard to hack into.

Info for name brand combo-locks
There is a series of numbers on the back of combo lock. Send a letter with the numbers on the back of the lock and request the combonation. The company will send you the combonation for the lock.

i saw this video and thought he was making some of it up. tried it on a brand new kryptonite combo lock i forgot the combo to. worked like a charm. i suggest anyone using a kryptonite lock switch to a master =)

  You can do with with one hand, I've done it. All you do is push down at the same time to whatever its locked too. Its pretty self explanitory.
