What settings are you using to get that sound from your amp, and how much does the sound made by an electric guitar, depend on the make of guitar?

- My settings
  Actually I'm not playing through an amp but an older amp emulator directly into my computer. As far as the guitar sound, it mostly depends on the pickups.. Gibson humbuckers give you more of that hard rock sound, while Fender strat pickups give you that Eric Clapton, Dire Straits sound.
