Test Your Milk!

  • Great job LEM!

I love fresh milk. We go through about 4 gallons a week here but if it's ever on or past the date... I won't drink it. Now I have a cool test I can do to make sure it's still fresh! Great job!

    • It works both ways!

      Thanks for your comment!
The fun thing is - this trick works both ways! Say your [insert appropriate relative/friend name here] forgot to put the milk back into the fridge for half a day. Is it all lost or still good to use? The test will tell!

  • Interesting

We usually use the.... "Hey... smell this" method!... or just go by the date on the carton. But I gave you 5* for the good video production.

    • Thanks!

Your comment and stars are appreciated! The "smell" method may miss a slightly sour milk. And I find it that sometimes the only carton in a fridge is a few days past the "expiry" date, but it may well be usable - and this test saved me a trip to a grocery store in a rainy night more than once! :)

    • Yep

Agree with you on that one LEM.
I use the 'smell it' method as well but made a mistake once and thinking it was ok I poured milk that was almost solid into my muesli. Luckily I noticed before trying it :)

    • Lucky!

Good thing you noticed! Don't you love that when you start pouring your milk into what's left of your cereal (and of course that's usually the last box you have), and it goes splash-splash-splash with all the little chunks :/
