Water at -20C ( -4F ) instantly turns to slush when poured into a bowl. Includes my secret weapon: the Kelvinator. This is not a fake, its real water, no gel, sodium acetate or other tricks. Water does some strange stuff. And this is one of them.

    i believe he meant -4C -20F, notice how quickly the ice melts, it must be near 32F or 0C

    If that water was at -20ºC u couldn't possibly be holding empty handed or else your hand would get burned(not in flames of course) and at that temperature the water is rock solid. So now we have some options that wasn't the actual temperature of the water and u probably used sodium acetate

    • You can.

      -20ºC is not as cold as you think. Check your freezer, it is probably about -18ºC to -22ºC and your hands are not being burned when you take something out of it... There are also parts of the world where -20ºC is a normal winter temperature, and while most people do wear gloves in those parts, taking them off for a few minutes have not caused anyone burns. Though I would advise against taking them off for much longer than a few minutes.

      P.S. There are also parts of the world where average winter temperature is -40ºC, and people live there too, but we're not going to get into that discussion now...

    • Thats why its SUPER cooling

      Supercooling is the phenomenon of a liquid being cooled well below its freezing point. Freezing consists of crystallization, and crystals grow from small crystals or neucleation sites ( dust, imperfections in the container ).

      Before you make sweeping and incorrect statements, you may want to check out Wikipedia, if you had you would see my videos used as examples of supercooling. :-)
