By mayon 1198671263 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei did this experiment in 6th grade and ur makin money... damn y didnt i think about it...
By btrulli 1193554963 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei put eggs in different drinks to simulate what they did to your teeth. Eggs in OJ will do this too, but it takes longer.

By rossimo159 1193940003 Reply Spam [+5] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei also tried it! it worked but i took longer then i thought. few hours of waiting..
anyway, if you have time check my magic instant freeze vid, also fun:)
5 stars for you!
i tried it myself and it works!
but it will take longer then you think.
it took me several hours for a complete ''rubber egg''.
but still great vid, keep it up!
5*

By beerwalla 1199326916 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedude... EGGCELLENT ! LMAO
By antoniomax 1199513048 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDon't forget the AN before the "eggcelent." Did you even follow the rule?
By elfonga 1199423293 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei think hes seein if zorb is still payin attention.
By Mikitik 1200255788 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAN egg.
A cup OF vinegar.
SOUND effects.
I think he meant a (cup with vinegar).
a (cup of vinegar) would be asking for 8 fluid ounces.
do you see my point?
must smell like crud! pretty cool experament. Nice job xjokermanx
It also works with teeth! I did this when my milk teeth dropped out
By zorbmeister 1193529171 Reply Spam [+4] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat did u do at the end with the water?
I didnt see any difference be4 and after the water thing.
The egg absorbed the water. This occurred in 24 hours. The egg has increased the size in 1 cm
By XJokermanX 1194565895 Reply Spam [+4] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHmm, if I'm not wrong, the water diffuses into the egg through a process called osmosis due to the difference in water potential, right?
By Ocreamo 1198474526 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeosmosis is correct, but the water goes into the egg because the egg has a lower pressure than the water. the water molecules can pass through the gaps in the egg's molecules, so they do.

By EvaYang 1198585439 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHaha, proffesional? I'm just a 15 year old biology student, that's all. Lol. That's why I need some "clarification." :)
By Ocreamo 1198732671 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehe should have also showed the opposite effect - by using a water and salt saturated solution, he could have the egg decrease in size
By UBIQ.TV 1199242275 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove* + * + * + * + * = 5 stars
By adamteng 1193584593 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWe did this lab in Biology to observe Osmosis, and diffusion. The eggs ended up getting pretty smelly though. Before anyone tries doing this, remember to peel off the shell (cell wall), but leave the cell membrane (that is what keeps the liquid inside the egg, and allows everything the diffuse in and out of the egg).
By suggens 1210561437 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewtf we did this in science class as a boring experiment how does it earn over 25hunderd dollars here its not that interesting.
By ltd1882 1210218966 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removegreat idea for 'how to drop an egg from X meter high' :P
im gonna put an egg in vinegar overnight to try :)
though 1 question, did the water make it hard again?
That was totaly cool trick!
lol we just did the same thing in science it has to do with defusion and the amount of a substance outside the egg and the amount of it inside or somethin ikd i forget lol
By asianator15 1200209781 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei also did this experiment in the 6th grade thats not fair your manking money dam next time i do an experiment im putting it on metacafe!!!
By jrol 1200023120 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeu should have called it an eggsperiment!!

that was so awesome!!!!! :-D :-) it was genius man! genius!!!
By D-MoneyKid 1198807741 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHow many time it took???
By lun471k 1198538782 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou can also do this with a wish bone from a chicken, some chemical reaction occurs when the bone is left in the vinegar for a few days
it becomes springy!
wow did that a few months back in science but the water was sweet.
By whodey2010 1198334589 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removefind a way to get the shell back on.
By chutaho 1198192907 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehe put it in water and it gave it its shell back

By predatormann 1194632987 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe way he squeezed the egg lol. Im imagining him go "ooo...squishy.."
By Nemesis2747 1194496643 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI don't care if it did need some editing, it's still a good compilation. Would be nice if it had the reason this works. (acid disolves calcium, and then the osmosis of the acid into the placenta....) Can't remember it all, but reminded me so the kids are doing this project today. :)
By MJDick 1194224845 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removefor your response. It's nice to have an intelligent conversation with someone. I can relate to your outlook on this item. Looking forward to crossing paths in the future. Mark
By markw9692 1195011726 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeand is this where pickeled eggs comes from?
By markw9692 1194942850 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA pickled egg is when you boil an egg, peel, then put in a pickling solution. (Dill weed, Salt, about half vinagar, but I can't remember the rest. Then it's left to age for a few weeks. Same way Cucumbers are made into pickles. The salt and acid are preservitives and can keep some thing for years, but be very carefull when canning, as if done improperly can cause food poisoning. (tomain perhaps can't remember what one it is)
By MJDick 1194958685 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI had to do this in science last year to demonstrate osmosis

By mr.$mith 1193476993 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI did this is 7th grade! After the vinegar part, instead of water, I used root beer. =D
By bam123 1193455768 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDid the same thing but in 9th and with pepsi
By throwskittles92 1193500964 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removecan someone explain wat he did
he submerged the egg into vinegar for 48 hours, and the vinegar was acidic, so it dissolved the egg shell, leaving a soft membrane surrounding the egg whites and yolk, so it's squishy
By -BABYYFOREVER 1193451453 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI never tried it but I know it does work... especially after 2 days!
The egg has a membrane that allows the passage of certain substances. To achieve equilibreum (how ever you spell it) some of the vinegar has to go into the egg, and thats what happens. Obviously, if it takes 2 days, it takes a while to reach equilibreum.
60 years ago this was done to show how to put an egg in a milk bottle without braking it. Back then milk was delivered to your home in bottles. Cool then--still cool.
