Set your phasers to awesome! Classic Game Room reviews STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE the video game for the Vectrex from 1982. Star Trek the Motion Picture was Paramount's 1979 lackluster answer to 1977's Star Wars. For the first time the crew of the Enterprise arrived on the big screen and confronted V'ger, a giant space-something-or-other heading towards Earth! Watch out! Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu, Uhura, Scotty, Chekov and numerous nameless ensigns piloted the brand new Enterprise into battle against a model surrounded by cotton balls and fake spider webs. The result was about three hours of some brilliant filmmaking mixed with a terrible script and some bizarre outfits. The result was a unique Star Trek film that doesn't quite fit with the series. Star Trek The Motion Picture the video game for Vectrex has little to do with the movie at all, in fact it has more in common with Star Wars. Players shoot Romulan and Klingon space ships with a laser cannon, refuel shields at a space station and fly through black holes. Smooth controls and vector graphics make the game fun and playable, although very repetitive. Fans of old school space ship shooters should enjoy Star Trek on Vectrex because of the old school gameplay and fun Star Trek overlay.

Sears was the place for electronics in the late '70s (well, Sears and Radio Shack) and they worked with Atari to launch their own classy game system, the Sears Video Arcade! Enjoy Tele-Games brand games like Tanks-Plus which is basically Combat except it has the Sears brand on it!! The Sears Video Arcade has that familiar Atari 6-switch styling but with Tele-Games branding on top, Video Arcade branding on the front, a rich walnet-style wood grain finish and silver trim. Serious collectors should enjoy having this amazing piece of video game history in their collection, and it plays great games!!

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR hats & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room reviews FAR CRY 3: BLOOD DRAGON for Xbox 360, also available for PlayStation 3 PS3 and PC! All hail the '80s action movies like Predator, The Terminator, Robocop, Tron, Rambo, Die Hard and The Karate Kids because it's Hot Shots Part Deux the video game, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon! This parody of the post-nuclear war '80s vision of the future is a standalone downloadable game that plays like a smaller, sillier Far Cry 3. Basically, the designers used the same assets and made everything look like Tron. Enjoy an amazing musical score reminiscent of Aliens, The Terminator and Predator as well as Michael Biehn's hilarious acting, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is rad!
