You're all wrong.
This helicopter isn't French. It's Russian. It's the Mil V-12. Certainly the largest helicopter ever designed and flown. Only two prototypes were ever flown. This video was most likely shot at the Paris Air Show.

- Back then the Russian design just twiste...
  Todays V-22 Osprey, the remaining running engine will tie by transmission to the second set of blades to keep them rotating.
  
  The Osprey has additional features as the wing and engine rotate on the wing and convert the craft from helicoptor to airplane.
