How did you hold your ground to film a multiple vortex that close. I've been close, but that's like getting a close shave there dude. Keep up the good work, just be careful, Ive seen those things go wedge in a hurry. Torn80

  • tornado rotation

Just out of curiosity, does anybody have any stats on the number of tornadoes that rotate clockwise versus counter-clockwise, in the southern versus northern hemispheres? Last time I heard, it was 85% CCW in the northern hemisphere, and I thought that I read somewhere that it was CW-dominant in the southern hemisphere, but the number wasn't as high as 85%.

Not sure but there definitely a significantly higher percentage of Counterclockwise rotating tornadoes in the Northern Hemishpere and a significantly higher percentage of Clockwise rotating tornadoes in the Southern Hemishpere

  • Of Course in Austrailia...

A Tornado is known as an Odanrot, due to it rotating in reverse.

Yes rotating the other way - given I have chased all other tornadoes in the US, even I can't get used to it!

What did you think of it anyway?
