  • Very cool!

The circular rings represent the age of the trees. On an average each new ring is added each year because whenever the tree sheds it's bark, a newer one takes over adding to
the girth of the tree. You can know the age of the tree just by counting the number of rings.Cool isn't it but you don't have to cut to know it....let it live...looks better

  • We are raping this planet

If we continue our actions this planet and its resources will be gone in the next century. Global warming has been proven, and we have already seen some of its effects taking place today. Deforestation is the destruction of EARTH'S REGULATOR. For Christ's sake, you're destroying what recycles our air, the most important thing to us and all species next to water! Human beings are a disease to this planet, that is why our actions will eventually lead to our destruction, it will be mother earth wiping us off the planet for good. Unfortunately, we won't be the only species to go. Get smart, get active.

    • what about the beavers?

If "The current beaver population has been estimated to be 10 to 15 million" and "One beaver can cut down as many as 216 trees per year" are true. I would think beavers are the ones "raping the planet"

    • Umm...

If you are kidding, then dude, you are hilarious. If you aren't, you are one of the most incredibly stupid people I know. Assuming you are serious, beavers cut down trees at a natural rate, FAR SIGNIFICANTLY less than humans. And when they do cut them down they make dams and lodges, which provide an ideal environment for many other animals and promotes wildlife growth. When humans cut down trees, environment is taken away. Beavers cutting down trees is a good thing, is has a positive effect, humans cutting down trees in the numbers we're seeing has a very negative effect. Again, if you were kidding, good job, you made me laugh, but if you were serious...that's real sad.

    • A renewable resource

For every tree logged there are more planted. It isn't like in the old days, where they clearcut hundreds of acres. We select log here in the 21st century.
And every thing left after making lunber to build houses, privacy fences, etc. You have a fence right? goes to a paper mill to make paper products, like ASS wipe( what do you use??) paper to teach our kids> So anyways pull your head out of your ass for a second and look at the real world.
