I'm not convinced by this explanation personally (or, at least, that's only a partial explanation...).3911476 - thats part of it
but mostly its because the middle finger and ring finger are connected to the same nerve. this means that the nerve cannot do two opposite motions at the same time (middle finger bent, ring finger pull back). if u bend ur ring finger against a flat surface with ur other fingers spread out, the middle finger will lift, but not by very much, and that is because the muscles in the middle finger are more developed. try bending ur index finger agaisnt a flat surface and lifting ur middle finger, notice anything?
