  • Almost works...

    ...but there are some limits to it.

    For example:
    1:30 1:45 (say 2 movies) = 3:15
    Your way - 130 145 40 = 315=3:15 (yes!)


    For example:
    1:00 and 2:00 = 3:00
    Your way - 100 200 40 = 340=3:40 (nope)

    For example:
    6:00 0:30 = 6:30
    Your way - 600 30 40 = 670 = 6:70 (huh??)

    For example:
    0:10 0:05 = 0:15
    Your way - 10 5 40 = 55 = 0:55 (nope)

    For example:
    0:59 0:01 = 1:00
    Your way - 59 1 40 = 100 = 1:00 (yes!)

    For example:
    0:40 0:40 = 1:20
    Your way - 40 40 40 = 120 = 1:20 (yes!)

    I can't quite figure out what the rule is, but there's definitely a restriction on what works

      u r right didn't think about that.. but for the 6:70 ..7:10 , i should work on finding another equation , limited to the 60 minutes..

      I would love to hear a 100% effective solution, but I've figured out the glitch here.
      When the 2 minute numbers add up to 60-or-greater, it's fine, because the additional 40 balances the clock's 60-minute upper limit, with the decimal system's 100-minute limit for 'hundreds'.
      When the 2 minute numbers add up to less than 60, the 40 isn't needed.

      For example:
      5:00

      5:00 and 5:00 = 10:00
      Your way - 500 and 500 and 40 = 540 (nope)

      5:00 and 4:59 = 9:59
      Your way - 500 and 459 (notice it dropped 41 count with just 1 minute drop) and 40 (balances the 41 drop) = 999 (huh???)

      But 4:59 and 4:59 = 9:58
      Your way - 459 and 459 and 40 = 958 = 9:58 (yes!)

      So, it works as a conditional formula - useful in a computer program, but not much in real life.
      Because of this, I doubt there's a universal answer, but I'll keep my eye out!
