  PS2Slim does not has slot for Harddisk. You only can put harddisk into your PS2Phat.

  hi if your slim type ps2 is 70000 scph and up you can but first install a matrix mod chip then you can connect using USB, but u need a program installed to ur HD its called HD loader find gamefreak site and youll be all set

Hello
Is it possible to upgrade the standard disc drive with a normal computer DVD-RW drive (so I can run and copy movies to my hard drive) and also run ps2 games (from disc) also? Is it just as simple as disconnecting a wire, take out old disc drive and replace with another and reconnect? Would that work?

If anyone can help, it is appreciated.

  1. the drive is different design in PS2 compared with regular optical drive for PC.
  2. Even if it has the same design, there isn't any software for that
  3. Even if it has the software, I don't see why you must burn and copy DVD on your PS2 instead of using a regular PC.

please make an instructional video on how to fix the laser disk read error/ not loading up the disk for the first generation ps2s. I used to be able to open up the ps2 and clean the laser head but then it went back to the same problem and i couldnt fix it anymore. we have 4 ps2s, 2 first generation(not working) and 2 2nd gen(working).

  The lens is the most likely is the part has the shortest lifespan inside the console. If your PS2 lens started to show read error, I don't suggest you to open up to clean the lens, because if it is time to go, it has to go, cleaning the lens is only a temporary solution. I would send it for a lens replacement which is a wiser choice.

  Of course, I am not stopping you if you can find a free copy of HDLoader from the internet. you can always find it in your regular BT site.
