Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of NHL 09 from EA Sports. This review is of the PlayStation 3 (PS3) version but NHL 09 was also released for the PC (Microsoft Windows), PlayStation 2 (PS2) and Xbox 360 in 2008 as well. This installment in EA's NHL series is a step up from the previous games. The level of detail is truly evident. The improvements in stickhandling and the overall slowdown of game speed have made this NHL video game stand above the rest. Not too mention the Be a Pro mode and this game is definitely a must for any rink rat out there. This CGRundertow review features NHL 09 video gameplay footage and commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Puddle review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Puddle on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U developed and published by Neko Entertainment. Puddle is less a video game than a simple science experiment. You have a puddle of liquid, and you have to move it without touching it. Players can tilt the stage to the left and right to allow gravity to do its work, but that’s it. Using your wits alone, you have to find a way to get as much of the liquid as you can to the end-of-level goal. Each level seems to throw new twists at you, as well. One liquid may evaporate when exposed to heat, but another may explode. One level may have liquid spilling all over the place, but the next may force you to keep it in a beaker. The game’s concept never changes, but it constantly gives you new ways to do it. Puddle comes to the Wii U in an upgraded form, as well, featuring better graphics and performance. The Wii U version also includes all the previously available add-on content, not to mention optional motion controls and the ability to play off-screen with the GamePad. This video review features video gameplay footage of Puddle on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Splotches review. http://www.ClassicGameRoom.com Shop CGR shirts & mugs! http://www.CGRstore.com Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Splotches for PC developed and published by Jolly Crouton Media. Splotches makes you remember the most basic lesson from that art class you slept through back in 6th grade: the color wheel, combinations of colors, and the relationship between primary (red, blue, yellow) and secondary (green, purple, orange) colors. When you combine a secondary color with the primary that it's "missing," you get brown. And because this is a puzzle video game, that results in an explosion. Don't ask how, just use it to destroy the rainbow orb located in each stage and you'll be set. This video review features video gameplay footage of Splotches for PC and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.
