Blu-Ray Laser Phaser!

So the DVD writer laser can burn stuff because it's from a writer. The PS3 laser is cool cos it's blue, but weak cos it's only from a reader. So the laser from a Blu-ray writer is going to be cool blue... and burn stuff! But, will it be more powerful than one from a standard DVD writer?

Very coolacios, Kip, but the beam doesn't seem to shoot out at the correct angle. It looks a little off to me.

Just a resistor will not regulate the current to 3v, which is the perfect amount of current going to the diode, if you are really smart kipkay, you would just keep the original 2 AA as they are 3v when put together. I urge none of you to do this because you are FRYING the diode buy putting 9v into the diode.... And btw kipkay, you laser flashlight video has killed many ld's by connecting them directly to batteries...

after all the anticipation, I burned out my diode overpowering it with my homemade driver. The Blue is now a very weak purple dot. So now I can only use it as a red pointer or an IR spotlight. Don't overpower the blue diode! Very sensitive. Out 50bux now.
