are often easier, because there is more to hold onto. I think that any apple is crackable with the exception of those apples which are far from ripe and hard as rocks.

I had figured out about voice over. It was really hard to try to act and explain at the same time. I kept tripping over my words. In the end, I cobbled pieces from several differnt takes together to get all the information down. Unfortunately, that meant that there were several different apples in the video. I would take the video down and re-make it with some of the things I have learned about making videos over the past few weeks, but this video has a nice steady stream of views. I hate to delete a movie that is going so well.

I did this on my first try, REALLY WORKS!
Next time I'm on the rode ;)
the cool thing is...
first, use this trick, and break the apple in half (if there's a stem, break one half, turn around, break other half, then pull sideways with fingertips),
then on individual halfs, turn it so the white innards are facing you, then GENTLY push the top outward in this same motion, but with MUCh less force and just fingertips.

That with the differnt take and cuts, it does look a little suspect. I filmed this before I learned to do voice over. Also, you are right, there is a small cracking sound before the real crack. This is very common. Often the apple will crack just a little and then you can reposition and finish it off. Still, the trick is real. There were no cuts in apple. It was fresh off the tree. The best way to prove that this trick is real is for you to try it yourself.

That if your apples are mushy, then this probably would bruise them. Of course, they would also be easier to crack. A nice crisp apple will not be harmed - other than cracking in half.
