This is a video I made showing the steps to make a camera stabilizing mono pod. It works amazing and will only cost you about $8.00 to make!

Great work. How do you see what you are videoing? I also have a mono pod "how to" made out of renewable materials (wood), with a monitor stand. On my channel

      Hello Denport,
This design is a stabilzing pod. You see the image in your LCD screen as you tape. I looked at your design and you need the monitor low down because your camera is high up! Great video on your design.

    • Movable monitor

Thanks for taking a look at my design. The monitor platform is movable. At the beginning of the video, you see that the monitor is up high about 12" from the camera. Also the monitor can be rotated so that you can brace the monopod against a wall and watch the monitor from the side. As you know these monopod can be wobbly.

    • video codecs

Thanks Sammy for the compliment. I used Pinnacle Studio PLus ver. 10.7 to edit the video. More importantly, I installed a free codec called DivX. After you install this codec, make sure you adjust the settings to get the highest file size up to 100 MB. (least amount of compression looks the best)
