The discipline required to do that 24/7 is amazing. He didn't train it, he lived it - physical, mental, philosophical.

Look at the history of when he started training the americans...He had to resort to the traditional ways of fighting during a fight for his honor and life to keep from being defeated and killed trying to use the style of fighting he was trying to teach as a better style...

Comparing Bruce Lee to UFC fighters is alright, I compared him to other well know movie fighters. ( just look below.

There were alot of great martial artists back then..Not so many showing off for the cinema...Jet Li started training at the age of 3 and touring the world giving exibitions by the age of 10...Jackie Chan grew up in the Chinese opera..Which is as hard a training as you can imagine for martial arts...Take Bruce Lee's one inch punch,he was not the only one known for that,go back more years than Lee's fame and take a look at a boxer named Rocky Marciano who could knock a big man down the same way.....Some times I really think people need to read more than watch movies...Anyone can be a God in a movie...It is real life that shows the true greats...

but bruce lee truly dedicated him self to be the best when he was about 18, and he became so good.

First off, I respect any martial artist of proper spirit and mind, no matter what their skill level. Secondly, I don't necessarily think I'm disrespecting anyone by saying it would be hard to find people better than Bruce Lee. The man was phenomenal and he dedicated his life training and trying to bring martial arts to the mainstream (hence all his movies, books, so on and so forth). Saying someone is second best to Bruce Lee would be like winning second in a beauty contest to Monica Bellucci (or whoever you want to put in there). To even be mentioned in the same league as him I feel is a great compliment.

You're right though, I did kind of feed into my own criticism by comparing him to current fighters, right after I said it is silly to do so. So I say we just all agree that Bruce Lee was an amazing martial artist and an amazing person, and that we can continue to learn from what he and other great martial artists, past and present, can teach us.

I completely agree with you, but I wont say that bruce lee was supernatural in martial arts,the reason why he became so unique and famous in martial arts is because he put all his energy from child hood into martial arts and in perfecting not only his fighting skills but also his mind. in my opinion i dont think anybody yet has been as good of a martial artist, not "fighter", than he has been.

karate is traditionally japanese, his messages were pretty simple, japanese people are evil :P not sure if he meant that, but it seemed that way in chinese connection

He invented the style: Jeet Kun Do, way of the intercepting fist. its a counter attack stye.

way of the intercepting fist means that:

for any enemy to attack you, he must physically hit you. so, this martial arts was dedicated to intercepting blows before they could land, or even come close.

All styles have their weaknesses, therefore there is no perfect style. He says he has no style b/c he has no particular style. In years of fighting technique research he did develop his own style though, Jeet Kun Do. Its his own resolution to all styles.

He had to slow down when being filmed because he was just a blur when they took the film to editing.

The sorry as5 dude that got clobbered the most was at Oakland. This guy climbed over Bruce's fence to his backyard and challenged him. This really, really pissed off Bruce because this is someone on his family's space and home. Bruce said that he never kicked anyone so hard in his life. He knocked the dude OUT!

Another count was a martial arts extra challenged him in the movie set of 'Enter the Dragon'. He kept bad mouthing Bruce until Bruce couldn't take it anymore. He beat the crap out of him but he didn't fire him. He allowed him to continue in the set as an extra.
