I'm from Yorkshire and that is definatly not the way to make Yorkshire puddings. you shouldn't have chives or thyme and the ratios are all wrong and they are supposed to form a bowl shape which you can fill with gravy and onions you don't tear them open.

  To be honest I know nothing of Yorkshire Puddings, but I think the tear open was just done to show the insides of the "popover." I don't think it was done to demonstrate eating methods.
