There are some places in Google Earth (and google maps) with high resolution images.
In Sydney-Australia there exists a large super zooming region. You can even see the people and their activities.

The coordinates of the places in this video are:

    Don't believe it taken from satellite!
    If they are so, it means that the people in Africa can see the satellite, because some of them in the photos stare at the camera!

  • National Geographic Overlays

    Hey, I heard that the higher resolution areas and inserts were National Geographic Image Overlays. They just coordinate the image locations and even thought they aren't shot from space they can be blended into Google Earth's data set.

    I was mainly talking about the pictures in africa. There is one there but not in your video where you can actually see the shadow of the aircraft taking the pictures. It is still amazing though, how good wome of the pictures are. In Amsterdam, near the hague you can see people sun bathing in there back yards and I am told those are sat images amazing huh.

    most of the pictures that you are showing here, like the ones in africa are not high res sat images. They were taken from an airplane or helicopter and where supplied by national geographic for hte purpose of showing what those areas are like.

      I didn't say anything about high-res satellite images :)
      Anyway, I searched in google and discovered that those images in Sydney were taken from a plane at the altitude of 600m at Friday the 26th, 2007 during the National Holiday of Australia
