        And what's also unreal is that these images are of history. Many people forget that it takes many years for the light, and thus the image, from these objects to reach earth. Sometimes on the order of thousands of years. So, what we're seeing are images from the past. Kinda spooky!

        Andromeda, the closest galaxy to us is 2.5 MILLION light years away....the light you see coming from there was made long before humans were even walking on this planet.....now that really makes you think

        hubble is like a time machine, it allows u to look back billions of years to how the universe used to be, some of the stars in the images it sends back don't even exist anymore, they have been dead for billions of years but we just haven't seen it yet

        how tiny and fragile the earth is and here we are, obsessed with money, power and blowing ourselves up

                • "Hubble" is so Cool

                  One aspect of Hubble is that it doesn't have to look through any of the contaminated atmospheres like the ones here on Earth.
                  Much sharper clearer pictures as a result.

                                    Images from the Hubble Telescope are in the public domain because they are collected as part of a NASA program, and most images (these included) are part of the pubic domain.

                                    As for the soundtrack...yeah, that might be a problem. I may repost tonight with different music.

                                    It appears that most of the images obtained from NASA funded activities are in the public domain, according to the copyright information on their web sites. Very good use of government money!

                                      we are just at the beginning...
                                      some planets millions of lightyears away from our hubble or array receivers, there might be small organisms.
                                      Intelligent (unlike some people around you) lifeforms will devellop, but if they are out there, they (or we) had contact by now.

                                      It will take a few (thousand) years before contact will be made.

                                      however i look forward to the day in my lifetime, i hear the breaking news "we made contact"
