I finally got a video card and started toying around with the Desktop Effects in Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon). By default there are two effects: Wobbly Windows and Workspaces on a Cube. If you want more effects/features, install the package compizconfig-settings-manager and run the program: ccsm. There are tons more effects and stuff that I don't like or just don't need.
The movie is a little jumpy in places due to frame drops in the screencasting program I was using. I also had a little trouble moving the cube around because I had enabled slow effects (Shift+F10) due to the frame dropping. For a normal user, moving the cube is not difficult at all.
Anyway, Vista sucks. Use Linux!
What Plugin/Package Is It Where The Windows Go Up In Flames When Closed? PM Me Back
By owlz 1197209040I just installed linux on an older system and might upgrade some hardware. What do you use to run linux on your system? Including wireless too because i havent got that working either :P
Great video though, linux has some great customization i love it.
