The funny thing is- its the older women that have had this done to themsleves that seek to continue these traditions... Twisted. The western cultures version of this bodily mutilation is plastic surgery- but at least here, it's voluntary.

Plastic Surgery is self multilation? how? if anything reconstructive surgery (plastic surgery) is correcting problem areas. self multilation would be more on the lines of getting everything on your body tatooed or pierced, maybe even stretching your skin with holes in them. like that...

when the girls get to that age, although they live in northern europe, the family "makes a little trip" back to the old country...... for guess what reason!! same thing with boys but the 'reason' for them (girls too in this catagory) is to "educate" them in ways of the 'old country'. and that's why we have these savages living amoung us. bad enough that they exist at all, much worse that they come to the 'western' world to live and then 'don't live here at all really'... the children are being constantly indoctrinated in their parents cultures mideval practices and bullshit. they should Stay Home if that S**t means so much to them.

This is a story of my life i wish i never had to share but if or when i tell others it helps and gives hope just to 1 person atleast that person knows they are not alone. Its very hard to get enough convidence back in yourself to get help. My Mum was the unlucky one in ways as she had no one to turn to back in the 80's and before. Myself I went through a huge amount of heartache before i was helped well not only was i helped my children were set free from the monster i married many years before. Just Remember NEVER give up hope.

I think anyone that abuses a female should be locked in a room and have the abuse done back to them but one the other hand that would make us just as bad as them. MMM just reading what i wrote this doesnt seem right we the victims have to put up with the abuse and a lot of the time the ones that abuse get no punishment. Life, law, society doesnt make it easy for the victim does it.

It does not increase sexual pleasure .....in some countries they actualy sew shut the girls V****a , leaving only a small hole to urinate out of, causing constant bladder infection during their life and this is then ripped open on their wedding night. I live in Africa and have never, ever met anyone that has voluntarily gone throught with this. All of the women that have a the littlest bit of education are against this and only the ones who are forced physically of culturally will/have to go through this ..........It is the most stupid thing anyone has ever said ....saying "it is nice to have" ........

I've never heard that the excess labia is cut. I'm in university and we've studied this. Also, a good friend of mine has a mom who went through this. Her maternal grandmother had her mother's clitoris cut. By removing the clitoris, pleasure is dramatically reduced during sex and orgasm becomes impossible. This removes the woman's desire for sex and is suppose to make her more chaste and avoid the woman (weaker sex) succumbing to her baser urges and sullying herself by sleeping around. Moreover, she's more valuable to a potential mate so it increases her chances of marriage. This was the reason why my friend's grandmother did it to her daughter - to ensure her child (which in her own she loves very much) will be suitable to a man. The purpose of sex then becomes merely pleasing the husband and not for personal pleasure.

It's important to note that while it's good for the government to try to stop these things, it's hard for individual women who care about their daughters to. They love their daughters and want them to be able to get married. Their society expects marriagable girls to be "circumcized". If they don't their daughters will be outcasts and not get married. If they do, their daughters can get infections and die; and if they live, they cannot enjoy sex ever. Tough choice for a loving mother to make in a village when all she's trying to do is make the best choice for her children.

You make me sick! How can you call it that? The reason they do this is so their women can't experience the joy of sex coz for them sex is only for procreation and they consider it sinful for a woman to experience orgasms. Women who have had FGM get what's left of their V****a 's sewn up again after childbirth to "preserve" their modesty and also satisfy their idiot husbands.

is there to facilitate easy 'SEWING CLOSED" as to prevent unneccessary....
