  • Not at all!

This is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge 'Galloping Gertie' in Tacoma Washington. There WAS wind and LOTS of it that November day in 1940. You can Google the Tacoma Narrows bridge and get all the details. It is rebuilt and there is now a second bridge too. I lived by it and went across it everyday for about a year before the second bridge was built and opened this year. This must have been an Asian video (obviously). By the way this is the longest twin suspension bridge in the world according to Wikipedia.

  • No no no.

There was no storm, only a quite breeze in the wind. This is a case on interference. Where two objects of the same wave length collide making each one stronger. The very low frequency of the bridge maches the low frequency of the wind and makes the bridge move in a wave like fashion. You can check it at wikipedia "interference"

I don't recall how but nowadays bridges are made so that this does not happen.

It is the same physical event in which a person sings a high pich and brakes a glass.
