  • I like it

I think he did good, I think the video was great, clear and I know punchboard never looks pretty. This DC to DC converter, I think is the best, Thank you.

  • real DIY video

    A real DIY video.
    Thank you for sharing.

BTW, some LEDs can be lighted up by one 1.5V battery!

  • not working

i make this circuit but its not working is it necessary to use a same ferrite coil which use in this circuit

    • ıt works...

please check connections again.. I made more than a dozen for the friends without any difficulty.. as you see ferrite core is simple and easy to make without any specialty.. at least try MW broadcast radio ferrite antenna bar..

    • more precise inductor specs

How about calculating more precisely the size of the inductor( in Henries) for those of us who want to buy the piece. I've spent many hours making different coils, and the only only that works is a full spool of 22 guage solid wire for an inductor.

  • ferrite core?

is the ferrite core acting as a transformer which is regulated by the transistors?

    By pants189 1203345894
    • ferrite core

      ferrite core generates electric pulses..
in fact this circuit is square wave oscillator.. when transistor switches off causes reverse voltage to induce in the coil.. and these continuous voltage spikes light led.. LED is reverse biased according to the battery.. that means no direct battery current flows through
      the led..

    • need more specific info on the inductor

Can you provide more information on the inductor, ie, size of ferrite core, size of wire. Or can you provide the specifications for an off the shelf inductor that I can buy? I managed the get the LED to light up by using a complete spool of 22 guage wire, which is not practical.
      thanks

Can't find 1n5K630 on schematic or what it is. Can anyone help me ?

    • 1n5K630

1n5K630 is a capacitor.. that means condansator.. value is 1.5 nf.. 1.5 nanofarad.. or 1500 pf.. or 0.0015 mf..
pf picofarad.. mf microfarad.. all same..
630 is breakdown voltage.. not so important.. try what you find..
      regards..

    • Tune..

Thank you for your kind interest.. The name of the background tune is:

      Katibim

A quite old and catchy tune..
The name is enough to collect extra info from internet if needed..
      Regards
