    9:50 working on 8s is the type of solution I was missing on a regular basis and kept me from solving many puzzles. This is in part because your annotation system is much better than mine, I didn't differentiate between pairs and either-ors so instead I would just have 4 numbers listed and it was just too much to comprehend. Thank you for showing me one of the ways to go about this!

    From the starting diagram, what exactly defines the difficulty level? I assume it is a formula based on number of row/column/box eliminations, pairs, half pairs etc that are visible but I would like the details if you know them :-)

      It is partly how many numbers you get to start. Today they say that "true" Sudoku puzzles are symmetrical, but you do see others.
      I subscribe to the Dell Extreme Sudoku, which rates the puzzles Easy, Medium, and Hard, so that is what determines the difficulty level on mine. The Easy ones are too easy now, but the Hard ones are fun.

      at that point anyone can see it must be a 3. However, I am trying to show how my methods are useful, not that they are the ONLY strategies.
      This is one reason Sudoku is so much fun, you can use many strategies all at the same time.
      I am trying to show the techniques that I use the most, and I have been thinking about how to show them better in the future. Terribly sorry when I make mistakes, or miss things now and then, I will try to do better with the next video.
