    I've been following this for a few years, I'm obsessed with this building.

    I've read they are going to have apartments in the building that will be higher up than the spire or antennae of the next tallest building in the world.

      Its not the oil, Oil only makes up 6% of Dubais revenue, they make most of their money from free trade zones. Dubais oil is predicted to be gone within 20 years. The will still have the free trade zones and tourism. Its not just Islamic people that go there either, I was there 2 years ago and everyone spoke english, there are allot of Americans, Britts, Australian there. I ate at a KFC and went to a Harley Davidson dealership. They have everything there. Its a cool place, you should go if you ever get the chance.

      If you flew a plane into the Burj Dubai when it was complete you would probably kill more Americans ans Brittons than anything else. Were all over that place. They speak english there. If you did it before consturction was complete you would kill more Indians that anything else, most of the construction worker in that country are from India. And also just so you know, Dubai depends on western tourism to survive so the 9/11 terrorist attacks were not a cause for celebration for the people of Dubai. 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudi, not citizens of the UAE. I think one was though.
