The 'Norwest Blowie' of Western Australia is a formidable fish - it will attack wounded fish ferociously like a shark and can tear a fish apart with its vice-like beaked jaw, which can also chomp through steel hooks. Blowfish have bitten people in the water - I had to leave the water as this fish swam right up to my feet shortly before I caught it. Their flesh is so toxic that death is certain if you eat one. However skilled Japanese fugu chefs can prepare blowfish by avoiding the poisonous bits.
