When a child dedicates himself to a subject he has potential.

When a Christian or a Jew kills someone religion is not mentioned, but when Muslim is charged with a crime, it is Islam that goes to trial!

When someone sacrfices himself to keep others alive, he is noble and all respect him.

But when a Palestinian does that to save his son from being killed, his brother's arm being broken, his mother being raped, his home being destroyed, and his mosque being violated -- He gets the title of a terrorist! Why? Because he is a Muslim!

regarding your questions about women staying at home. There is a perception in western culture that in muslim societies the husband decides the fate of the woman and she has no free will. That is why they consider her oppressed.
If a woman covers herself from head to toe out of her own free will she is not oppressed. If she does so out of fear that some lunatic in the street will murder her, then she is oppressed.
Very few universities prevent woman from wearing a hijab in the West. Those that do are wrong. Do not take the exceptions and make them rules.

When you make the claim that Islam is the perfect religion, in esence what you are doing is challenging a person to a debate. Your are saying my religion is perfect yours is not. So when a person responds to this statement with critisism, muslims should not get offended and angered (as they have in this forum) for you have started this debate.
In my opinion a lot of the tensions between east and west are due to misconceptions. Many believe that muslim woman are oppressed because they are not given the freedom of choice, and that they are servants of their husbands. Many believe that the Muhammed cartoons are an example of the west hatred towards them, when in reality we are allowing freedom of speech. And this freedom of speech includes material that is offensive to Christians. An atrtist placed the crusifix in a glass of Urine. A portrait of the Virgin Mary was smeared with sh..t Christians found those potrayals as offensive as Mulims found the cartoons. People believe Islam is "evil" because they perceive it to teach love among fellow muslim and hate non-muslims. I have come to the conclusion that it does not matter what the Koran says, but what each and evey muslim interprets it to be and feels in his heart. But I also want mulims to back up their words with action. To express anger when a fellow muslim speaks ill of non muslims. You might sense hatred comming from the west, but I also sense hatred comming from the east. We have to bridge that gap, and start understanding one another, or else we will never have peace.

In my thinking all these religious books was written long time ago and at that time it was ok to follow all the sayings. But now a days things changed how can a women stay home when you have to worry about a lot of bills, good education for the kids, how can you tell that girls should stay home and read only religious books !!!

As for women covering themselves up, according to many Muslim women living the West, they are forced. If you disagree take up your debate with them.

king james, i believe, wrote an account of the gospel and you may have been refering to the saint thomas version of the gospel which, even though it's a valid gospel, is not in the bible either

I've been bought up as an atheist, i try my best to understand religion. however i don't believe there is a being of higher power. To me religion is a concept (no dis respect) or guidelines to life but one which i cannot see myself agreeing to, people say god gave us free will, and maybe thats the most destructive of all god's creation.

look at the conflict on that page, and this is only a minority of theviews and opinions. this is like a microcosm of the world, and as i was reading the comments i could feel the tension between different people and religions and in the real world it is the same conflicts that bring war and hate(to my belief). current day examples of such conflicts, jews and palistines in isreal, protestants and catholics in norhtern ireland it is not only now that there has been tension between religions, but when we look back in history, there were crussades. Crusades where basically missions to convert people in to which ever religion and war was a way to do so. and people say we learn from history. However i don't believe it is religion which bring about war but people, ignornat people who feel that they need to attack other in order to deffend their own beliefs, this really discourages me from beileiving in religion and God.

Now in a world where science dominates, people lose faith in religion and turn to science where proof seems to surpress belief . Who could blame people for losing faith in religion when there's so much confusion about what messages relgions are preaching and this situation isn't helped by the media nor by people taking extractss from holy scriptures out of context. it only add fuel to the ever growing flames.

In a modern world of diverse cultures people have too many prejudices. people need to understand before they act and people stereotype to readily, and are too ignorant of the world around them. people need to learn to accept people for who they are and as individuals, not collectives, we are all unique and differrent and should not be judged by our beliefs or rictuals but instead strive to undersatnd and accept others. Only then do i beileve religion can work, with out conflict, whether between religions or science or people. If ever there was a need for a miracle now would be the time, look at what the world has become, in my eyes looking at the bigger picture there is only distruction, and if there was a god would he let mankind continue down this path...?

A way of life and peace and mercy for all the creation! and alot of people have this very wrong idea that islam is a new religion, Islam has been since the day this earth was created and was the way of life(religion) of all the creation and i mean all the creation including the humans, trees, birds,animals ect...each is submitting to his one and only lord and worshiping him in the way that God had designed for him! and also ISLAM came with a very universal message that no one ever came with before and that is its universality, Islam is the only message that has believed in all the messengers that has been sent from God ,,(for the previous messengers were sent only to thier people!) and in that truly is a miracle by its self in a way that helps people to unite because there is no elimination of any sort but an update that corrects and guides,for every prophet who came before ,came and has put a brick on the same straight bath, the path of his creator and that path has been completed finaly with the last and final brick which has been put by the final prophet Mohammed peace be upon him. for no previous prophet has claimed to be the final messenger, but all have asked people to follow that same straight path that he was building!! and we can see the final message was not named after its messenger but after the final message its self which is ISLAM. Another beautifull sight of universality is when we see all the people from different nations and colors and backgrounds, the king, the poor, the rich the black the white the red the brown all stand humbly shoulder to shoulder ,like true brothers in humanity and putting thier concentration and feeding thier soul from one centre and that is the centre or origin of all creation! How about the person in Afghanistan that is going to be executed because he converted to Christianity. Did you notice that his lawyers tried to get him off by pleading insanity, and not by arguing that is not the way of Islam? They did not do it because they knew that the koran states plain and clear, that his punishment should be death.

if a muslim converts to anyother religion then there are certain conditions that are cheched before punishing him. i m not a preacher, they know it better, but as much as i know, he is asked to give a legitimate reason of conversion and that reason should be a good one, if he is just doing it for the cakes then he is considered guilty and a traitor of islam and will be posing a very bad affect on the rest of the muslims and so he will be punished. You know, converting into islam, just like n e other religion, is not something like changing ur clothes, one accepts a religion by understanding everything it offers and he is told of the consequences of leaving it without a good reason. This is also one of the best rules that make islam a perfect religion, that if it were allowed 4 n e one to change faith just like that then observers would think that its not a good, complete religion at all, even if the person leaving islam is doing so because of his ignorance and lack of knowledge about the islam. n u r a wise person u know the different types of ppl in every part of the world,

Executing someone makes Islam appear unappealing and hateful and not a "perfect religion" M I WRONG claims. It gives ammunition to critics of Islam who claim it is an unperfect religion, it was spread by the sword and kept alive by the sword. These are some of the same questions I have. The only place I have ever heard that the original Holy Bible was destroyed and a "false book" put in it's place is from what one man only has said, being Mohammed. There should be some concrete proof as to this if it were true, other than one man's word that it is so. That is where I wonder about the cult thing, because all these people are following ONE human's teachings. I believe that is why the Holy Bible was written by many men of God, yet none of these mens teachings contradict the others. They are all consistent with the others, and it gives more of a check and balance. They may speak in different styles or personalities, but they are all on the same page. With Islam, you either believe this ONE man, Mohammed or you don't. There is no check and balance, no other human to whom he was accountable to check against - at least that I know of.

But why ? you may ask... Why would anyone bother to do all this ? Easy, just because no matter how democratic, open minded, peace loving, good willed they may seem deep in them they can’t stand the existance of that religion. Maybe they have been offended by believers of that religion ? Or even worse, they have been attacked and murdered ? But is it that religion which killed them ? Or could it be fundamentalists ? Those who interpret that religion upon their uncivilized and evil wills ? Could they be using this to justify their brutality ? Again we come to the point where truth is altered by mankind. So what if these people are actually satanists in disguise ? Is it possible that we may be using the existance of these people to create a scapegoat ? So that we can focus on that religion and declare vendetta upon it. Also convincing our fellow believers that the enemy is the religion itself. Even half of these acts can put hatred into them and thus make our job easy...

If this little mind exercise didn’t help then lets point out some other facts. Many Arab countries are poor and struggling. People find it comforting to call them uncivilized. As the only civilization they have tolerance to is theirs. But does Muslim mean Arab ? Definately not. Just beacuse the language of Quran is arabic doesn’t make the religion itself Arab. There are many non Arab countries that are Muslim and also there are many Muslims that have been living all around the world for centuries. So “Eat sand and die you Muslim!” speech is a product of an uncivilized, misinformed mind. And besides sand is a clean and healthy form of earth, something which people lay upon to sunbath on beaches. Although these speeches and beliefs don’t make sense and seem of no importance to talk about, when bound together and organized they all serve the main lies and breed hatred.

Another fact is about Arabic language. It is a rich and complex language in which words often have several meanings. Think about “saw” in English, it would mean a tool or the past tense of “see” depending on the sentence. Arabic has countless words and expressions like this, often with more than two (e.g. five!) meanings. Sometimes these meanings are slightly similar but totally change meaning of sentences. So when Quran is translated into any other language meanings can dramatically change. Especially when done by unqualified translators the outcome can even be just the opposite of what was really meant (even if the interpreters mean no harm like Salman Rushdie had meant). I know this sounds like a fairy tale and is difficult to comprehend but maybe Arabs aren’t that uncivilized after all are they ? For those who protest, remember that language is the main key to a civilization.

If you have cared to read this far and still have suspicions, here’s a final touch to this entry. Believe it or not, any good hearted Muslim who is not infested with hatred has felt the pain that day. 9/11 will never be forgotten and is a horrible shame for mankind. If you feel comfortable thinking that the entire Muslims enjoyed watching those unbearable, terrifying scenes then be it your way. It's not like God used the type of gutter talk we hear on Metacafe to describe this, and yes, reading it is a bit unpleasant, but what I get from it is a warning to women and idolators, and I believe it went into such a description so as to realize the depth of these 2 women's depravity. First of all what part of people being sentenced to Hell to you find appealling. Judgement day is horrible because people will go to hell. But it is nessaccery because evil cannot be with God. Hell is just separation from God, not a place where God tortures you( which you find in the quran)

Jesus died for our sins because without his atonement we will all go to hell. Since, every human is a sinner we all fall short of heaven.

We did nothing to deserve Jesus's sacrifice. But it is rather out of an undying, and unconditional love that Jesus died for us.

God has a rule that "no murders are allowed to enter heaven". And a man one day commits murder. But the man knowing that what he did was wrong goes through his entire life with rightousnous and does many good deeds.
The man then dies and God has a problem because the man was a very good man and God wants him to be allowed in Heaven. But at the same time God has a rule that "no murders are allowed in heaven" and doesn't want to abandon his rule which would make it meaningless. So God has to take his punishment on someone, the punishment for murder is death. But since every human is a sinner, no one can be sacrificed for anyone else. So, God,being the only thing good and pure, sacrifices a part of himself ( Jesus) to atone for the man's sins.

The answer to your question is in the Quran! It's a big book, although not as big as the bible. I read it to set up my mind for myself and not through what other people might say. Doing that (reading the Quran), you'll certainly know more about Islam than most muslims in the world do, and that is a sad but true thing to say...
By the way: in my understanding of the Quran, the call to fight for Islam is more an invitation to live up to one's beliefs rather than an invitation to be violent. To me, it really means: "if you are a true believer, you must be ready to leave behind comfort and wealth and risk your life instead of denying your faith in the face of danger."
But this is only my personal understanding of it.

You lack common sense, fail in religion and rob the wisdom of the wise.’ Upon this the woman remarked: What is wrong with our common sense? The Prophet replied, ‘Your lack of common sense can be determined from the fact that the evidence of two women is equal to one man. That is a proof.’”

these are just a tiny amount of verses

The first you have mentioned [Quran 4:43] is referring to sexual engagement with women. Read the explanation of the verses as well. In Islam, after sexual engagement of a man and his wife they are both supposed to cleanse themselves before praying. Since in Islam we consider dirt to be pure as we have been created from it... we use that to cleanse ourselves as well. BOTH of them are supposed to cleanse themselves. BOTH .. not only the woman. Read the explanations as well.

Second verse [Qur'an 4:15]. That punishment is for men as well. If a man or a woman commit adultery in Islam ; the punishment is of death. The rules were revealed over a period of time. So later in the Qur'an you will see that the punishment was changed to beheading. This goes for men and women.

Third Verse [Quran 24:34] - it should be 24:33. Anyways... For muslims a fornicating woman is not respected. For any religion for that matter. So if anyone compels their slavegirls into fornication then Allah is Most Forgiving to the SLAVEGIRLS. It refers to the slavegirls when Allah says that they will be forgiven. Not the man who commits it. As you know ; in Islam the punishment for R**e is death. Then how can you say that we forgive him.
If you understod arabic only then you would understand who it is being referred to.

In Islam; to prove something like adultery or fornication we need to have cour wtinesses. If four witnesses are not present then the case is dismissed. But Allah says that if a believing husband accuses his wife and brings a case then take his testimony equivalent to the testimony of four. Once again that man has to reliabel and believing. Just for the note: Nowadays, the four witness can also be replaced by DNA or more reliable scientific approaches.

In Islam, Allah tells us that He has made men to excel women and that is why men should be the protectors and guides of women. So men excel women in faith as well and hence the more number of women in hell.
This doesnt mean that women are not treated equally. Infact it means that we have to treat them with more care as we have been asked to do so.
Since women are emotionally weak their testimony has to be backed up with another woman's testimony. In emotional cases they tend to forget their religion and do wrong things.

Thats the way it is. We have been made made different to perform different duties and obligations. A woman's body and character has been different to that of a man because she has to perform different duties. Women can breast feed the young..men cant. That is not inequality .... It has a purpose. Aslo when Jesus said that he is not from this world but from his father and the only way to him is through the son. The bible also says that his followers worshipped him, yet Jesus did not have a problem with that.

And Jesus also said to Pontius Pilate that he had no power over him unless the father granted him.

You've also contradicted yourself, if Jesus (PBUH) was part of the tirnity meaning that it was God himself, why would he then say he has no power unless his father granted it? So if he's the Son how can he then also be the Father? Fulfilling scriptures? In order to fulfill the scripture of his "death" he would have had to remain "dead" for three days and three nights. The prophecy stated as was Jonah in the belly of a whale for three days and three nights so shall Jesus be in the ground for three days and three nights... Jesus (PBUH) was "crucified" on Good Friday... He would not have been left on the cross all night due to superstitions of the ground becoming cursed if those crucified were left over night, therefore lets consider Friday the first night, Saturday morning the first morning and Saturday night the second night. So far so good... But the Bible says that when Mary Magdalene went to annoint (rub with oil) the body of Jesus (PBUH) on Sunday morning, the stone had been removed and the body was gone. That's ONE day and TWO nights... That's not what the prophecy claimed!

And does it not say in the bible all you have to do is believe in Jesus (PBUH) in order to enter heaven? Well I do believe in Jesus (PBUH), he was a faithful prophet of Allah (SWT).

Obviously God knew that Ayesha will desire Muhammad in the future life and in the life Hereafter. It was the biggest honor for hers to get married to the greatest man on earth. As many of the Muslims believe including me, we dont think that he ever had a sexual relationship with her. He might have had when she was of the proper age but not before that.

There are reasons why God recommended our Great Prophet to marry Ayesha. She was a girl of great memory. She could remember things word for word. This ability of hers helped the muslims after the death of the Prophet. She would narrate the entire lifestyle of the Prophet. She would narrate all the sayings of the Prophet. These came to be known as Hadith. Allah knew that she had this ability. After all Allah gave her that ability. So God (Allah) recommended the Prophet to marry her which helped the Muslim people eventually.

She is said to be the happiest of the girls of her times. She wasnt being abused and forced to do anything. She had the freedom of choice. But who would want to leave the greatest person on earth. We believe that the Prophet even though was 50 years old looked like a young and handsome person. This was a gift to him from Allah (The Most High). So dont think that he forced anyone.

Slaves under our Prophet woudnt agree to leave him after they had been freed by the Prophet. They said that it was their honour to work for such a great man. Dont think that being with the Prophet she was not happy because the Prophet was old. She was very happy.
