    although it is a great tutorial I honestly prefered the "before" picture to the "after" image.

      I do agree that sometimes your image does not need the effect of the tutorial. Sometimes it is better to leave it alone. I chose this image to use because it was a close up of the face to show the differences of before and after. Strictly just a tutorial on steps.

  • You don't need to do all this shit.

    Just take the smudge tool and smudge around the areas you want to look better. It's that easy.

    • Smudge is not as affective

      The smudge tool is no where near as effective as this. It looks like this method is for tonal consistency and workflow. Much more professional than smudge

    This is clearly explained etc., but the video is out of focus. It can't be my PC because the other Metacafe clips are all fine.

      I think it is the compression of the video to avi. You can see a more detailed higher resolution video at the video tutorial section of newdarkroom. Take a look at that copy and see if that is a little better
