  • Idiots.

The whole point of watercooling is not for aesthetics but to bring the heat AWAY from the core components, allowing for higher overclocks. you overclock and the heat goes to the radiator and not the GPU of CPU, thus achieveing an overclock of 500Mhz . and you leak test a PC for 1 day with nothing on but the watercooling, if it leaks fine you dry it and tighten the lines. if it doesnt wou have a watercooled pc. period.

  • DO NOT TRY THAT

its very dangerous to mix water and electricity like that.one small leak and your dead or u could start a fire in your room.

    • REP: DO NOT TRY THAT

Yo dude, it's non conductive water so it won't mess anything up and you have nothing to worry about..

  • stupid guy

Watercooling system is just maily for show.

If I ever did it, it would be YEARS from now when tech is better.

Plus this guy was STUPID for not wearing gloves while doing all this, the oils from your hands are not good for a computer, plus static shock will screw up something.

The MAIN computer mods that are worth a crap are clear or custom tower cases (cosmetic) , and cooling fans. (cosmetic / useful)

upgrades are good for awhile until its best to just buy a new computer.

    By Lycan21 1143670474
    • nah

dude wearing gloves will make static worse everyone i know and me don't wear anything on our hands just keep forearms on side of case to keep your self grounded works great.

    • realy?

i thourt thay did a good job but u are probly right?

      By william-d 1145304658
    • its cool

but not all that great, main thing I didn't agree with was the lack of gloves.

      By Lycan21 1145305191
    • .

I have to agree with you there.

However the anitstatic can be warn anywhere. I usually put them on my leg (thuching the skin) because the wire gets in the way.

Upgrades. Depends what you want and if you purchansed the parts seperatly. Generally making it easier and cheaper for upgrades

      By MrJingles 1143674651
    • ESD has less resistance when worn on the...

although you are correct it can be worn anywhere, but in extemely dry conditions where higher static charges are present, the skin is also drier which increases resistance. Also he is failing to use a static mat to help prevent charge build up.

  • Built one four years ago.

This water cool system I built using a Stingray Water Cooling kit was whisper quiet, reliable, and served me well all those years. I still run this computer, which had one of the first dual core processors on the market. And, yes, I put it together just like this guy on the video. I used my bare hands too. So, there you go!

GOOD LUCK WITH THIS REALLY INNOVATICE CONCEPT FOR PC
IS THER AN ALTERNATIVE LIQUID USED IN PLACE OF WATER POSSIBLE ? / THANKS FOR POSTING /

  • Good Job

It looked like a fun project. Would have been interesting to get before and after speeds, temp readings, etc...

    By bluoceann 1196925779
  • its not dangerous, tsk.. learn dude

..even if you do use water, any physics student should know that water is an insulator.. unless there are elecrolytes dissolved innit. Distill it before putting it in.
Besides if your too uncertain about water u can use other fluids like coolants. Just keep everything away from the main powersupply and you neednt wory about fires.. coz every power connector inside's just 5-12volts. Liquid coolings been around since the pcs started to heat up, if youd like to go extreme with cooling systems.. people even submerge systems in fluid.

  • Say what?

Well this is something I've seen for the first time in action. I'm planning on buying a watercooling system and no its not to show off, it actually cools down your pc better, plus I like big cases like (Tower) is good size, 'cause more room to put stuff and its not a pain in the ass to change/upgrade something. I think this is actually pretty cool, I never knew you could actually watercool video card, hd, etc.

  • Conformal Coating

Spray Complete board and components in conformal plastic coating, makes anything water proof, and drop in an old fish tank or bucket, no fans, low cost, chilled pc

  • OMG

who has the time to do all of this?

    By Calboy 1144099513
  • Umm... Yeah

I don't know about anyone else but I just don't think that putting water in an electronic divice is the wisest thing in the world. One could get quiet running fans that run at very high cfms for just around $10 a piece... with flourescent lights in them. But that's just me, I put all my money into making my comp work better rather than look better.

    • Some day all PCs will be water-cooled.

Intel has hit the limit. The only way to boost performance is with a more efficient cooling system, namely liquid cooling.

  • watercooling system??

ill better stay with my PC...

    By padfoot 1143991938
    • ????

Water cooling is not for show, it is used mainly for overclocking. ANd it is unlikely your pc would set on fire as there is nothing flamable in it. And in what way is upgrading pointless??? theres no limit to the amount of upgrades you can make. upgrading is basically building a new pc bit by bit if you think about it. I think it is you who is the stupid guy lycan...

This whole thing is CRAP! If want to spend your money (500$) on this, then you are either rich or just want to literally throw your cash away...
By the way, anyone khow where can I find the background music?

What a waste, your screwed if you get a leak , a zip tie on the hoses is not going to last ? Sounded REAL exciting though with the background music! =)

  • Piping ?

Is this a series or paralel piping system ?

    By uncledang 1143641801
    • series

looked to me to be series piping. as far as i know, most cooling setups are done in series. Mine was.

      By Kaijyuu 1143644498
    • Not worth it

      It’s all parallel.

And in all honesty in some ways it’s not worth it. I have a really powerful one tri fan radiator and a good pump and I haven’t seen much difference in temperature change. Also has put the pump and radiator in the system which defeats the object. You still would need case fans to S**k air out and blow air in. And you would need that anyway for your hdd and cd drives.

      Better way to do it

      1. Better heat sinks on graphics card, CPU and chipset make sure you have fans on the heat sinks as well. Get better heat sink compound as well. Silver or copper seem to be the best. Don’t get ceramic the idea is when it heats up it can flow.
      2. Better case fans. And make sure the flow goes from one end of the case to the other. Usually blowing in at the front and S**king out at the back.
      3. Good case. Either get one that will fit 120mm fans or a bigger case for more fan space and put ant vibration padding behind the fans.
      4. Good power supply. Get one that has 2 x 120mm fans. This is better cooling for the case and the power supply its self

Most heat sinks have degrees per watt (C/W or dpw) rating. The lower the better
Also the fans have a Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) this should be as high as possible with out the dBA being too high.

Ive spent about £250 - £275 on the water cooling. I could have spent about £150 on the better solution.

For those who still want to do water cooling. Mount the radiator on top of the case and the pump outside the case with something to protect the pipes and pump.
      The pump gets very hot.

I hope this has been helpful

      By MrJingles 1143644179
    • .

Oh yeah and if a cooling system uses tie's to hold pipes dont use the system (look how the pipes on the radiator is connected

  • hmz

I dont think it costs that much more to build in... Look at the parts he bought, thats like 200 bugs laying right there... this movie is just useless..

  • NEAT-O...

Until there is a leak, then BZZZZ-ZZZZ-TTT!! (Smell of something burning - a den or home office, perhaps?)

    By LiarsHateU.S. 1143598376
  • Been there....

Done that!..It cools a computer and is not cost effective.
Buy the cheapest window air conditioner, Put in window or not, get a bit of cheese cloth and make a bag with moisture desicant in it..take Cloths dryer vent tube..attach to intake fan and to A/C with duct tape and you get a 20 degree cooling better than water. Average temp is 48 degrees.

    By Mastersage 1143580207
  • bullshit

tell me when you come up with a way to cool a computer with a liter of water a plastic bag a piece of string and toilet paper. i bet those stupid pump gadgets cost more than the PC itself.

    By link- 1143541033
  • Just attach an AC unit against it

Alot of hassle - just get a faster and upgraded unit

    By nicorette 1143525563

you also forgot the fan noise as well only 1 fan = alot less noise
