Pro Security Training in Guatemala

  • Cool!!

I'd wish the police acted like that in real situations. That would be really a respected police!!! I'd gladly paid taxes in Guatemala.

Great video, I didn't know that happened in Guatemala, by the way, were do those agents go after training? are they 'sicarios' or police from some other countries?

By benitocarlos 1158873030 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Where do they go?

well that depends my friend. Some of them are bodyguards, others are selected police agents, others are Guatemalan Army (special groups) and others are just common civilians that come for training, and others are special foreign groups. This is a civil "open to all" academy, so almost any civilian (that fills requirements such as a clean criminal record) may practice and learn.

For more info in Guatemala, call (502) 5340-7592.

Whats up man? how is everything in Chile?

By red warrior 1149992213 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • Everything´s fine! thanks for asking!...

Have you been to Chile sometime? It`s a very beautifull country. We have deserts, woods, beachs, eternal ice, to many mountains, beautifull women... well, it`s a nice place to live. And, of course, we have to many dojos, and dojangs, and kwongs, gyms, etc. But we haven´t Lima Lama.
Here is a lot of Tae kwon do academies also Kung Fu, Karate and Kenpo.
Others martial arts too, but not so many as what I said.
Some guys are training Vale Todo and MMA. And they are very good. Kyokushin is very strong here. And we have a martial arts film called Kiltro, very good.
      ¡Chao, compadre!

I don´t now who really are you, but I note you like martial arts. It would be interesting to share videos about it or documents.
Next time say your name and use your own e-mail. That`s more apropiate for a martial artist. Don´t you think?
That would be a way to show respect to your master, if Grand Master Villanueva is your master. Ok, Mr."red warrior". See ya next time.

    • Gamale Lama

The style is Gamale Lama. It was created by 10th degree Master Mario Villanueva (who performs in most scenes of this video) It is based in various traditional martial arts, but he tweaked them so it would become a super fast and devastatingly effective self defense system. for more info on this style, write me at: limalamatx @hotmail. com

  • Stupid Jokers

Im so fucking tired of watching these idiots practice shooting at targets from like 2 meters away, wtf is this supposed to be, walking closer and closer to the target. I do my target shooting at 15-30 meters away with a pistol and I walk away from the target not closer.Over time my mind and body have become so good at calcutaing where to aim on a target at all sorts of distances that its like my mind is on autoaim and knows automaticly how much higher above the target I should aim to get the desired shot, head, torso, legs, etc, etc.these and other jokers Ive seen shoot at targets from like 2 meters away and walking closer what retards, NEWS FLASH! no one will let you get that close to you in a real gun fight, bullshit!. They should be trainning these and all law enforcement/ contractors people to learn how bullets behave at all kinds of distances and and will all types of weapons, MORONS.

    • close quarters

UUUMMMMMMMMMMM, I seem to recall shootouts like this accept the battles have been in buildings and alleys. You should brush up on the conflict in Iraq! I have had to do it in 3 deployments!

By army strong 1167286370 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • I can see your Ignorance

First of all, I wanna state that I filmed most scenes on this video. The reason you only see close quarters drills is because when framing the shots, the long range drills (which we have filmed tons) lack the same action and character, because you can barelly see the target. This is why we chose only the short range drills.

Seccond, this is not a video to display marksmanship itself, but to show the drills. Focused on the excercise and not in displaying the accuracy.

Third, I believe you when you say that you are a great marksman at long distances (shooting lifeless targets). A lot of us are. However, the people that we train have to unfortunatelly shoot real live people on a weekly basis, and trust me: "there wouldnt be lot of them left if this training didnt work".

By Malama 1167325494 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • close distance

oh, and in real life (like in Iraq, as my friend army strong says, or in latin america anti crime division) almost all shooting happens at less than 10m. (about 30ft) either inside of buildings, or in the narrow streets. Nobody will ever try to mug you, or kidnap you from more than 30m (100ft) away; and it is rare (even here in central america) for people with mid range or long range weapons (such as assault rifles, carabines sub machine guns or sub machine guns) to engage from more than 25m on urban environments. Therefore, unless youre training for battle in the mounains or deserts, shooting targets further than 30m is wasting your time. will almost never use this skills on urban combat.

By Malama 1167326400 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • oh and one more thing...

if this is setup for a security/law enforcement environment...

does it make sense to walk away from your target as you shoot?

No. we walk towards the targets, for the idea is to reduce the threat (by reducing, I mean to neutralize it) also, the idea most of the times is to enter buildings, so yes, the idea is to walk towards the target. This are not runaway tactics.

ok im a 16 yr old kid and i can roll around on the floor shooting a pistol and also i can use a shot gun as i participate in clay pigeon shooting. also most of those arm grips and restraints are standard judo and wrestling that you could learn in a half year of lessons. god its just not that impressive

By pablojudo 1154573855 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • I can see youre 16

You know what? you just keep shooting your clay pigeons like a cowboy. This is about real security, and I dont mean like american security guards who sit around a monitor all day long, its about real bodiguards, law enforcement and security guards who live on a real conflict country; who endured over 30 years of civil war, and urban warfare. Have you ever shot someone? dont think so. so that makes you a true ignorant in the subject of real defense tactics.

Now, I can also tell (Most clearly) that you dont know the first thing about martial arts, when you compare this to judo and wrestling. There is just no connection between the video and Judo or wrestling. You are so Ignorant. Have you seen Judokas use their fists and kicks like this? NEVER my friend, because There are no strikes in Judo. But Im sure you could post your "half-a-year knowledge" and impress us? please do since youre such an expert. or can you show me a Half-a-year student that performs like this? please do. Your ignorance is obvious. Even here on Metacafe, there are so called "Masters" that have trained for a decade or two and dont move half as devastatingly and effective as what is displayed here.

In other words, grow up. Youre pathetic.

anyways, Im pretty sure that you are not more capable than me in any area you describe. If so, Please post your "so called" skills, so I can admit you are. I have practiced every day for more than 22 years, and Im confident that I could deal with you anytime punk. So go ahead and shoot us your video.

Youre so arrogant! and Id bet you wouldnt last a minute with any of my students.

    • Ok my "not friend"

I HAVE practiced martial arts for 22 years, under Grandmaster Mario Villanueva.

I an an instructor and have my own school, which I have had for 9 years here in Guatemala City. I have 92 students currently. However, I am a Student as well, for I keep training under GMaster Mario.

I have practiced and hold a black belt in Master Mario´s Version of Limalama, Temv-K'a, Aikido, and Judo. I am the USA Martial Arts Association National Champion (2003) title that I won as I helped Master Villanueva setup a new school in Magnolia Texas. I hold many other titles, including NBL World Champion. I dont consider Myself a "teacher", but more like an Instructor, and yes... YOU CAN BE A STUDENT AND AN INSTRUCTOR AT TH SAME TIME.

My school address is: Calzada San Juan 27-38 Zona 7 Guatemala, and its called "Mega Lima Lama". Some of the scenes of this video where shot there in case youd like to visit me and see that Im not a 12 year old, or if you know someone here in Guate, they can come and check it out for you. However I might have some 19 year old students that can take you anytime. They Fight in the AAMAC (Asociación de artes Marciales de Alto contacto) circuit which holds No holds barred competitions. If not satisfied, I could do de job anytime, for I also compete in this sort of competition.

The phone number to my school is: (502) 2474-1019 in case you wanna call and hear for yourself. Best times are in the afternoon when I teach most classes, but sometimes Im here in the mornings too.

Why dont you shoot me your email, so I cand send you some pics? I have tons of them, but I can even offer to take some custom ones so you see Im not using somebody else's. You name how you want them to be and Ill take them so your'e sure.

The best thing would be for us to meet somehow, just so your doubts are cleared. Wanna come to Guate? where are you at? I travel quite a lot with Master V and his sons, might be able to swing by sometime.

For now, the doors to my school are open for you to visit anytime. and the offer about the pictures (custom or not) is always open. Still no worries about fighting you anytime. Lets see who is the punk.

      So long.

    • Crazy American Rubbish (CAR)

Ok I saw the videos. You gotta be kidding me.

      1. Most drills in the videos are based on extremelly close-quarters situations, which obviously allow to get pushy and quicker on the trigger. If I was less than 3 feet away from my attacker, (like in the videos) I would probabbly be even quicker. The "no sight allignment" tactics are ok for that distance, but most attacks will come from a distance further away than 20 feet, and up to 75 to 100 feet. The tactics featured in the video about SIPRODE, (here on METACAFE) are designed for an attacker that is located from 30 to 75 feet away, (86% of the urban combat situations are held within this distance) which requires sight allingment and re-allignment after every shot. Which makes it 75.3% more accurate than quicker non-precision aiming.

      2. There are a thousand things to do while reloading that are more effective than simply striking your opponent with the tip of the barrel of your gun. That really looked uncreative and unneffective.

      3. The video above is intended to be viewed by untrained people who dont know about guns and want to start from scratch, thus the explainatory tendency and speed of the techniques and tactics. The idea is not to impress with speed, but to display and demonstrate some basic tactics and techniques.

      4. the combination of high quality advanced hand-to-hand techniques and tactical shooting (Which are used by law enforcement, Military and police, and by bodyguards and security agents in real conflict countries) is unmatched by the "only shooting" videos you suggest. Especially considering that more than 90% of the real life situations can be (and are) resolved through non lethal force, (Hand-to-hand combat) without even drawing the gun.

      Thanx.

      2.

    • oh and I forgot...

Question: why the hell would you want to hit a person in the head with your gun, when you just shot him twice on the chest and once on the head, all this while being 2ft away? its not very logical or reallistic.

I can tell the person on the video has never been in an urban combat environment, or has never been on an urban ambush situation.

    • You dont know what youre talking about.....

This has nothing to do with Guatemala´s law or police or goverment. This is a PRIVATE ACADEMY, has nothing to do with crime control or whatever. This academy is dedicated to TRAINING mostly CIVILIANS, bodyguards, police and military, ITS NOT DEDICATED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT. So what you has nithing to do with this video. Besides, most of the students are from other countries rather than from Guatemala.

You should ask the most rescent team to train here, the KAIBILES who went out to the Congo a few weeks ago, (Jun 20th to be precise) if they think this is fake. they have used this and will probably use it, on live close combat i africa.

you are right, the crime in GUatemala is bad, some authorities are corrupt, but that has nithing to do with the realness and effectiveness of these systems, the training that this academy provides is not related to the politics and conduct of law encorcement officers, (SIPRODE does not train the policia nac. civil, for example) However the techniques and efficiency of such is not fake my friend...

and that is what this video is about. not about the guatemalan law enforcement, that is a totaly separate issue.

Are actually brother styles. Tu umamao Tino Tuiolosega created Lima Lama based on thirteen traditional Samoan Martial arts, and his friend Ed Parker incorporated some of its moves to American Kenpo, which he developed from the Japanese Kenpo he learned while in Okinawa. Gamale Lama is a combination of several diferent traditional Guatemalan arts and it does have Lima Lama in it, as Master Mario Villanueva is also an 8th degree in Lima Lama.
However, as 10th degree Kenpo Master: Estuardo Schumman (who learned Kenpo under Master Bill Ryusaki) stated on a rescent conference, it was Kenpo who incorporated many Lima Lama Concepts into its art, and not the other way around.
