If you do it right you can, you can start at the plug end and only undo what you need, instead of un-looping the whole thing. Nice video.
The configuration is generally referred to as a daisy chain and is more commonly used with rope. You see it in theater and stage rigging often. The problem with the wire is that it is not very pliable and ends up being quite large

The cord is quite easy to untangle if needed, and the time spent looping the cord over and over again instead of just wrapping it like normal wouldn't really be worth it. Plus, a simple wrapping takes a lot less space than a series of loops.
