The message that most of the opponents to this presentation failed to realize is that the verses were first handed down to the medieval Arabs who were quite accomplished in astronomy. God challenged them with facts. If someone carefully read the Quran, he/she would find that the Almighty does not give you an answer right-away unless it is a matter of law/jurisprudence. He makes you think and contemplate on the creation all around you and leaves you to decide what you want to believe. That is the ultimate test of belief in Islam, the belief on an unseen but omnipotent creator who is magnanimous beyond our imagination. Please do not compare Islam with any other "religion", as it is not based on myths and legends, but on pure facts and scientific phenomena. It is a complete code of life that encompasses all aspects of a human life. The verses of the Quran is yet to be proven to be scientifically incorrect, rather the opposite is true as science everyday gathers more information on our cosmos and the creation around us. If all of creation was left to probability, we would not be here because the nature of intelligent design that is all around us is just too fantastic to materialize with such incredible odds.

If the Quran was indeed a rework of the Torah and Bible, a lot of scientific errors would be visible (todays Bible and Torah are nothing but surgically altered manuscripts that are revised to meet the needs of the moment, in fact there are over 300 versions of the Bible!). Any divine revelation would not require such revisions as we know that God is perfect. The word God is meant to be something that is ever-lasting, omni-potent and all-knowing. Surely God knows the past and the future and so does not need to revise his own scriptures. The Quran is the only scripture that has remained unaltered throughout the centuries. It will remain so till the end of the world (if you believe in one).

Ridiculing the faith of over a billion people of all races and nationalities do not represent "freedom of speech", rather insensitivity and intolerance, which are not the traits of truly educated and civilized people. Before criticizing a way of life, we should invest some time to learn what its true message is. We should not form opinions based on rumors or misguided quotes. May knowledge and tolerance prevail!
