This is part of but one of the nine ancient martial traditions of Japan this being taught within the Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu all across the world. For all those fake ninja out there, just to let ya'll know, the 70 year old that's owning everyone is Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi(a living breathig warrior). Did I mention this part of this stuff that the ninja of the old Japan were trained in. Anyway here's his video at Smokey Mountain Taikai 1998.

  • New Meaning

This video gives a whole new meaning to "Cooperative Attacker". Respectfully, I wasnt sure if I wanted to laugh or cry. Seriously Unimpressive. I feel sorry for the people involved here. For some real self defense moves search for "Mario Villanueva". He is a 10th degree master showing some grat techniques. Thanx.

    • goofy.

I agree. Scripted, and unimpressive for the most part. A few of the moves could be useful, but the application is off. He's a good showman, however.

  • don't need to flex it

don't need to flex it, when you know you've got it.

In other words, Hatsumi doesn't need to show you how intense it can be. Why don't you go to japan and find out for yourself.

  • Taikai

This video is from a Taikai years back. Soke Masaaki Hatsumi is demonstrating Taijutsu techniques at a speed that allows those watching him learn from the demonstration. If he did techniques full speed, it would be too fast to learn from. Not to mention there would be broken bones, things like that.

  • Cool, but...

I have no doubt that these grandmasters and whatnot could indeed do some serious damage, but I wish that it was shown in a manner that wasn't so obviously scripted and cooperative.
If they want to impress, then do it with real people using real methods.
If they want to instruct, then do it in real life situations.

  • Good ol Hatsumi

Dont belittle any of the ninja techniques or styles as true ninja is using and doing what ever is nessasary. Plus Hatsuni's style is so traditional there are certain techniques that simply wouldnt work in our society, trust me ive been studying ninjutsu for 6 years.

    • Good to see Hatsumi

It's good to see Masaaki Hatsumi in action again. It's been too long since I've practiced this formidable art!

  • Real Ninja?

Yes Hatsumi is Grandmaster of nine traditions. But Mr. "The Ninja" what exactly was the ninja's greatest weapon?
I know ! Pick me! It was secrecy and deception. I don't see a lot of that with their system. Maybe the "so called" fake ninja you put down are the real ones and not Hatsumi. Yes I know he's the real deal but don't put down ninja systems just because they look different or can't or won't show linage papers. There is more than on style on ninjitsu and some of them are still traditional and want to stay in the shadows unlike Hatsumi and Hayes etc. Not knocking them, just saying they are not the only "real" ninja out there. Wake up!
