It's just gone upscale. We all love a freak show. Seeing someone that is more handicapped than us is always "inspiring." A John Callahan comic illustrates this best: It shows a pair of heads on wheeled boards, one of which is wearing dark glasses. The one head says to the obviously blind head "You're such an inspiration to me."
