Mysterious Lightbulb Hack!

really really a million dollar vid kip congrats i see great fortune in ur "Crystal light bulb"

You don't need to use a needle nose pliers to remove the light buld base.....just heat the base over stove flame-don't burn yourself, or the house :) The bulb will begin to smoke (melting the glue) after a little bit, just twist the base a few times with large pliers and it will remove :) Be Carefull

That sure would come in handy if the power went out. 5 *'s as usual

Isn't there a special gas in the bulb that if you open it, it will release it which can cause suffication? Since when you drop the bulb, it blows up.

it's a 6++ and it will make it to the very top of the best of PR 2008...

If you heat the base of the bulb up you can twist if off with little effort and you should not break the glass.

This is a great hack, but when I put mine together you can only tell that it is glowing if you shut off the lights... How do I get it to glow brighter???

I wonder exactly what type of LED are you using here.

If you use 6V supply and don't use a resistor according to OHM's law,
R = (VS - VL) / I... then I guess I don't know where to get this kind of LED.

Let me know please :)

I wonder if you don't need to use a resistor in series to void the burn of the LED.

You did arrange two 3V batteries so it would reach up to 6V and that would burn out a regular LED. I guess this could be a special LED or should use a resistor according to: R = (VS - VL) / I...

Vs=6V, VL= maybe 2 or even 4, regular I for LEDs is about 20mA.
