    have blatantly ignored what is written in the Bible. This may cause offense particularly at this time of year, but Christmas is not a Christian practice, even though it claims to be. It was instituted to appease Pagans who were to be incorporated into the Roman empire, and its religious origins are also pagan. The date of Christ's birth was not Dec 25th, but most likely a warmer Sept date since the shepherds were out in the field tending their flocks. Additionally Jesus only commanded his followers to celebrate his sacrificial death, not his birth as a helpless baby. Also Christmas incorporates a strong commercial element. Commercial greed is afeature of the world, yet Jesus said his followers should be no part of the world.

    Christians typically wear or venerate a cross or pray to the virgin Mary, both of which are idolatory, a serious sin in the Bible. God commands that his followers are not to worship images or form an image to worship of any sort, since he exacts exclusive devotion.

    The trinity is also widely celebrated, even though it is not supported by scripture. Jesus is describes as God's son, not God himself. Why would he pray to God if he was God? Why would he say that he was sent by his Father to do his will? Interestingly, the trinity has origins in Babylon long before Christianity, and many pagan triads of God's are known to have influencedcorrupt church leaders in the centuries following Christ. A common mistranslation of John 1:1 propounds the trinity doctrine.

    Many religious people believe in Hell, which has no basis in scripture. The words Sheol and Hades translated Hell mean a common grave, not a place of torture. The false idea that the soul is immortal helps the Hell myth. The bible says that a person that dies is conscious of nothing, and promises a resurrection on Earth for the righteous, not in Heaven. The scripture that the righteous will inherit the Earth is familiar to many.

    The bible says not to add anything to it or take anything away, which is one basis for not including apocryphal books in some translations. So why is the Qu'ran necessary? Jesus said that people should put faith in him to gain his Father's approval, so why is the Prophet Mohammed necessary? I mean no insult, but this is simple logic. Muslims clearly do believe in Moses and Jesus, but the scriptures show that Moses forshadowed Jesus as leader, and Jesus is the person that will ultimately undo sin and death. Why is a further religion necessary?

    One final interesting point is that God's name appears over 7000 times in the original translation, yet was almost entirely removed for superstitious reasons. This is a crime beyond any immoral practice or false doctrine.

    Please don't misunderstand me. Great wrongs have been commited in the name of both Christianity and Islam. My argument is simply that people should find out what the bible really teaches, rather than rely on sentimentality or passed-down traditions that do not necessarily please God.

      In what you stated regarding the Muslims. We never claimed to believe that the book you know as the Bible is the Word of God, there for the Qur'an is very necessary. It's not a Jewish or Christian book, but a Muslim one, so we don't concern ourselves with what the Bible says. You can't prove the validity of the Bible by referrng to it, but by referring to outside sources. If I ask a criminal whether or not he's a criminal, of course his going to say no!

      Etymology of word crist ("cristos" latin word for messiah="the annointed one") latin translation of bible was done long after jesus died so basically Jesus never even herd the word crist or christian in his life

      God don't live in a book! Not the Quran, The Bible, or any other books of Earth. I bet I could find similar scientific facts in a Dick and Jane book as well. If you want to get close to God, then get close to a child. If you can't find a child , then look to the child within.
      God sends us non-judgmental, loving, compassionate children and man brain washes them to his control. We teach them to hate, judge, and kill in the name of their God so man can have control. This is a no brainier. Man wants total control of your life and mind, by all means don't think for yourselves, let control freaks do it for you by joining a religion.
