    Income is all based on business, and they lay on just 12 % of their oil so shut up

      Heres some real shit on DUBAI
      Prostitution is not legal but we have more whores from east europe, north africa and far east per residential building than normal families.
      If you think gambling is illegal, check out the gambling room at Dubai Seafarer's Centre - every Yank and Brit sailor is in there boozing and gambling! Note: the centre belongs to the government!
      There are as many bars as there are restaurants; if you are white and caught drunk, you'll be let go, if not, you're screwed! People get drunk on a daily basis and we see it regularly - every bar will do its job.
      And for those who think that Dubai is booming, two FACTS:
      The stock exchange is in a mess, the Arab nationals that invest in the stock exchange take loans to invest and then loose because the stocks are a farce. Every IPO is overrated; they crash when the hype dies. Please read about the state of the UAE and Saudi stock exchanges to believe it.
      Every major development in Dubai is riding on the back of cheap, exploited Asian labour. Ironic isn't it that some think its the "small companies" that don't pay their employees. "Small companies" such as Belgian construction giant Besix, Arabtec (stock listed company), Al Naboodah Laing (working on the Burj Dubai and the Dubai Airport extension).
      A real pity that everyone enjoys yapping while the labourers don't get their monthly equivalent of US$100.00 (inclusive of food allowance) for 2-3 months and don't enjoy annual leave and air ticket. And when they demand a US$8.00 increase per month, they are told to shut up and work or face deportation and loss of owed funds!
      And for those who think that Dubai protects its expatriate workforce, know this: The UAE Labour Dept. won't do anything when our companies retain our passports? Did you know that is a crime?
      Evry major real estate development here is NOT SELLING - the quality of projects like the Jumeirah Beach Residence is very, very, very low.
      I am an Asian expatriate who grew up and work in Dubai - there are many opinions about this place but the majority population will relate to us!
      I don't hate my life here but we really get treated like shit.
      And I think everyone who lives here shold speak up.

    Please guys think before you talk, ‎sogerlab is right. The worlds largest mall is in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It has a Huge aquarium w/ submarine rides and a life size pirate ship. It also has the worlds largest indoor amusment park, as well as the worlds largest indoor water park. And has everything the dubai mall will have excluding the Gold stuff, cuz were not that damn rich. And im not even sure if it is going to be bigger when it is finnished becuase they are still cutting parts out of the design.

      I am sorry to say that when I passed through edmonton, I went to the mall and was very disapointed. Much of the mall was overy run down and old. It seems as though it was built 30 years ago or so.
      Sorry but the videos and pictures that I have seen of the Dubai Mall puts edmonton mall to shame.

    AD the capital is a better place! I am an American doing biz here and honestly getting tired of hearing about Dubai being "THE BIGGEST, RICHEST," blah, blah, blah.

    Whenever you hear of a killing, it happens in Dubai and they have a bigger problem with "working girls." Still a great place to party on weekends however. Besides, AD has all the oil money and subsidises all of the other 6 Emirates, including Dubai.

    It is a safe place and is the model for moderate Islam. It would be great if Americans did a bit of research about what else is going on in the world.

    The Dubai Mall is almost complete and will open Jan 2007. The Dubai Trade Center (The big tower) will be the worlds tallest building (200 ft) and is schedueled to open by 2009. It is already 1/4 complete. The UAE is another story... The avg income of its citizens is $160,000 US, and 80% of its citizens are foreigners. If any of you moved to Dubai, u would be considered on welfare compared to everyone else. Despite terrorrist activities surrounding the UAE, the UAE is actually extremely safe, more safe than most cities in the states. This video just shows you a sample, there is much much more amazing things in Dubai than this, and I consider the UAE the best place to vacation in (if u got the money).

      the burj tower is the tallest building in the world; approx. 850 METRES.
      if you know you don't know facts, at least check out wikipedia to get your shit straight. the average income in the UAE is US$2000.00 or less per month.
      there is no welfare system, there is NO CREDIT SCORING system for banks, companies or individuals and the safety is not as good as it used to be.
      there are too many people and very few policeman and police vehicles per residential area; there aren't enough hospitals and all the new developments haven't any hospitals though up! FACT.
