  • only in japan

    do such things happen

    By megirl 1145895093
  • Cool... or...

You could just use a knife.

Both fried and mashed potatoes taste better with the skin still on them. Mashed potatoes without skin = bland.

    By oblivionwolf 1145830139
  • Nice thought

Japanese simply have the sense of art of living.

  • oh

i try that next time i make potato

    By @cat 1144255868
  • Probably works...

...with japanese potatoes! But with french taters, the hell if you can get any result remotly resembling that!
I tried it last weekend and only got mashed potatoes.
I must admit, though, that the trick of dipping the hot potatoes for a few seconds into cold water allows to peal them with your bare hands before they warm up again form the inside out.

    By Nadiral 1144098198
  • annoying but cool.

the peeling part was cool but the voice was so annoying

    By Twitchinutcase 1144082020

  • french fries

can I make them or is only for smash potatoes?

    By lets see.... 1143864855
  • Awesome, but how about prep time?

It's kinda cool...it's certainly easier than a potato peeler (for those who keep cutting yourself with it) or whatever. But before I make mash potatoes...would I ever remember to prepare some ice?

    By Sevrin 1143852398
    • prepare ice?

don't you normaly have ice in your freezer. Heck most friges now have one of those ice despencers on them now days.

      By thatoneguy 1143865948
  • Ummm

Have these people not heard of a potato peeler before. Seems like an awful amount of work to go through....

    By JROC 1143822305
    • maybe,

but some people like better the taste of potatoes baked in peel.

      By ubizz 1143837352
    • .

I prefer the fried ones.. without dipping them in an icebucket

      By Dustmite 1143837779
  • No way that would work

I don't even need to try that to know it wouldn't work. Fuckin' crazy japanese.

    By djphonics 1144392864
  • Not RICE?

    (smile!)

    By Silver Palm Trees 1144355575
  • Potatoes

I care about potatoes, and you should too. Potatoes are an extremely versatile food, have a long shelf life contain alot of potassium, and just taste good. Mashed potatoes, fried taters, tater tots, potato pancakes, curly fries, vodka, potato salad, baked potatoes, the possibilities are virtually endless. Respect the potato before it stops respecting you!

    By catsallupinyourmouth 1143858443
    • I'm sorry!

But I gotta say it. When I read your comment, all I could think of was Forrest Gump and the shrimp. "Fried shrimp, boiled shrimp..."

      My thoughts exactly.

    • annnnd...

it was hitlers favorite and almost exclusive food!

      By Peikko 1143954349
    • What was?

Potato's or shrimp? HAAAA, just funnin' ya, Peikko! But again, I've learned something. Potato's were Hitlers favorite food. All I've gotta do is figure out a way to insert that into a conversation. JUST FUNNIN' YA AGAIN! :o)

      By Dragos 1144189028
    • :D

(hi guy, only seen small glimpses of you recently..)
Haaa! that's great! and a great idea. i'd really like to be around or hear about it as you 'slip that in' to a conversation. Me,... i'm only envious. i never have conversations, at least not that kind, where the opportunity to try something like that would come along. (by the way, he was sort of obsessive about it/them. a lot of people know that he was a vegetarian (i wonder if all those neo-nazis these days emulate their hero to that degree) but there was really well made couple of programs a while back wherein they were detailing this potato love of his.
me? i'll take the shrimp! anyday! :)
