  • great crappy idea

    good idea in theory however removing the pillar that once held the doors sturdy and thinking about the material they had to use to lighten a door enough to ensure it could do this for years.. you lose your strength, granted todays cars arent strong to begin with but this sad attempt to make things better is a guarenteed coffin ride if hit from the side

  • Colder climates

    This would be soooo bad in colder climates, while it looks to be a good idea imagine all the water getting down in there from the rain and snow... rust city! Also, any ice would jam this up solid just like an electric window. Power failure would sure be nice with one or two doors down, robbers, vandals and weather would all have a field day while your gone looking for a new battery or a tow truck.

    One of those mark 8s were on ebay a few months ago. It was listed twice because of a bad bidder.

    On the one that was listed, the driver's side door was broken and wouldn't open.

    seems like a good idea, but what happenes in an accident? You can't get the door or window open without power. Battery dies and you're locked inside.
