I'm impressed that you did this with "junk" parts. Hard to imagine building a sequencer to control the lights (or is the seq. an old PLC put to good use?) Whatever, it's very cool!! Soon to come; nationwide lights seq contest ; LOOK OUT THEN!! :-)

  This was a purely hardware solution. Basically I used 6 20 year old EPROMs (48 outputs) , addressed by a 12 bit up counter, clocked by a 10.42 Hz oscillator.
  
  There is a free software program called Vixen, that I will use for the next version.

Go to Google Videos and look up "coolest christmas lights ever" and watch that as it was much more impressive AND it was out earlier than this, these people were only copying that House.

  I did this project for fun, for an Airstream club rally, just to see if I could. I saw the original incarnation by Carson Williams which was done with a commercial controller and software. I wanted to see if I could design my own sequencer, and build it purely from junk parts.
