all ur doin is increasing the swap, so incase you run our of ram it stores to your hard drive (as in your pc uses the hard drive as a "scratch disk" when ram is insufficient), rememebr EAT (effective access time) to your Hard drive is MUCH slower than RAM, i dont see why you would possible want to use the harddrive in place of ram.??? although it would make a slight difference, getting more ram would essentially be the best thing to do. so game playing off swap wouldnt be the smartest thing in the book....

  i hated it its so slow (i got 4 gb mem p core 2 duo but seems like i was running on 512 on pentium2) i hope windows fixes this slow speed os gone back to xp pro dont install at all

Your trick is useless!!!! who would have a Harddrive whose speed is faster than the ram!!!

Best setting is that you install 4 GB Ram!! and be happy :)

OLD TRICK
Not youre the one, who tried this.
Well, good idea, but the RAM is faster then the hard drive. However, the hard disk is cheaper, but when you use it for virtual ram AND storage, the time (while its read and write) will expend - so won't get faster.

Thats my oppinion.
