whats happend here... that Grizzly bear remembered his cousin, the black bear's story about the monster sized cat that jumped outta the bush an tried to eat him... he probably decided not to take any chances... lol
is watching too much Metacafe clips :-)

We LEARN stuff on Metacafe! for instance: I just learned that the Grizzly bear has a cousin called Black Bear.. And Black Bear looks out for his cousin Grizzly by telling him stories.. I don't know about you but I certainly will go to bed less dumb tonight! hehehe

Cougar's are awesome and I thought the video was great, but how in the world do they get footage of this stuff!? Is it a setup? Oh. Now I got it.... the black bear tipped off his cousin, grizzly bear, that the cougar made some comment of how his grandpa and grandma got owned by Goldy all those years back and the cat's gonna steal his porridge and then mess up face 'juuuust right' like the good old times. Grizz go pissed about this and declared he would settle the score. Then the black bear tipped off the camera crew who used their influences to remove some of black bear's 'outstanding debts' for a favour.
Poor bear just wanted a cuddle..
If that bear had some military training it would have realized that all it needs to do is maul that cat's head to remove it. Maybe he was feeling nice or the cat had paid him to show off to the kitten.
The bear was obviously paid off by the cat.
The bear must be gay or something because if he would have stand up and grunt he would have made the kitty run away.

but thats very sad how the bear found that rat and they teamed up and jumped the bear and took his money and went out for i night to get drunk

The bear was not in a fighting mood or attack mode she was more like in curiosity stage. if she woul've wanted to hurt the cougar she would've tear her....apart yea and drink her fluids..

That Grizzly could had turned that cat in to dog food, it obviously " the Grizzly " was not serious at all on making a meal out of the baby cougar, the bear didn't even much as show a tooth or lift a paw, while the cat is biting at its head and ear and bear just shakes it's mighty head, then gives a little shoulder nudge to the cat. both mother and kitten where very lucky, that Grizzly was playing.
Even animals trough their instincts resume to Judgement & Understanding U have it all here in this video...is kinda cool U know !?

Go Cougar!
This is a staged event for film by trained animals. Unfortunately, the cougar is a much better actor than the griz. The bear just didn't show any heart. Probably preoccupied with the size of his paycheck.
This has to be staged. The bear is very tame and just curious about something. You never see the cub in the same view of both the other animals. The camera angles and the close shots is a definite give away. So many viewers on this website are so naieve. I am getting tired of their stupidity. They need to stop looking at these videos. They are feeding into these guys that are submitting these videos.
The real problem with people like you is that they are so jaded that they proclaim every video that they don't understand to be faked or staged.
You are very wrong about this clip and, in my opinion, very naive about the workings of creatures in natural settings.
The behaviour in this video is very real, given the situation. The bear is either curious or possibly looking for a quick snack of the cub. He's never encountered a mama mountain line defending her young before, so when she attacks, he is defiant at first, becomes confused when she won't back down, and retreats when it becomes obvious that she is more of a threat than he figured.
The mama lion is also reacting naturally. The *only* way that a lion like this would ever confront a bear of this size would be in defense of her young. A mom defending her young in situations like this one are at their fiercest and most dangerous. They will not back down in the face of overwhelming odds. This is a fact of nature that the bear finally figured out as he ran away.
Sometimes clips here are real. Sometimes they're not. This one is.

The main clip is real. The closeups of the bear and lion roaring at each other, along with the closeup of the cub are clips that were edited into the situation to make it look more dramatic for television.

whan the cat jumped on him he didn't even try to use his claws on her or bite her, he just shock her off.
cats can be so stupit sometimes, they'll attack things twice thier size.....

guess it's how we raise them! She has a disposition that is incredible. ...but, she DOES want to catch my LOVEBIRDS! (though lovebirds are pretty tough little ones!)

but of course with so many of them its understandable! I like to tell people "l raise LOVEBIRDS, and that says A LOT about ME!"
cats are not to be taken lightly. Cats totally kick soo much ass. I always figured cats were bigger than dogs but found out the bear is actually a distant cousin of the dog. Cats still come out on top.
But hey Im a cat person.
Believe it or not dogs are very distantly related to cats heard this on t.v.....can't believe it. Don't know how they come to that conclusion..
Quick story for you thats true.
I had a cat, Big bugger she was, and a lad on our estate set his rabbiting dogs onto her,,, One a lurcher, the other a Terrier. The lurcher got to my cat first, she jumped and ripped into his jaw, and then on seeing the terrier rush into her, she grabbed it underneath, just like a lion and an antelope... The dog made a sick gasping sound, but keeled over after a few seconds. She had ripped his stomach and his intestines were falling out and his throat was ripped. The lurcher bled to death only a few minutes later. My cat never had a scratch on her.
