We LEARN stuff on Metacafe! for instance: I just learned that the Grizzly bear has a cousin called Black Bear.. And Black Bear looks out for his cousin Grizzly by telling him stories.. I don't know about you but I certainly will go to bed less dumb tonight! hehehe

Cougar's are awesome and I thought the video was great, but how in the world do they get footage of this stuff!? Is it a setup? Oh. Now I got it.... the black bear tipped off his cousin, grizzly bear, that the cougar made some comment of how his grandpa and grandma got owned by Goldy all those years back and the cat's gonna steal his porridge and then mess up face 'juuuust right' like the good old times. Grizz go pissed about this and declared he would settle the score. Then the black bear tipped off the camera crew who used their influences to remove some of black bear's 'outstanding debts' for a favour.

Poor bear just wanted a cuddle..

The bear was obviously paid off by the cat.

The bear must be gay or something because if he would have stand up and grunt he would have made the kitty run away.

This has to be staged. The bear is very tame and just curious about something. You never see the cub in the same view of both the other animals. The camera angles and the close shots is a definite give away. So many viewers on this website are so naieve. I am getting tired of their stupidity. They need to stop looking at these videos. They are feeding into these guys that are submitting these videos.

The real problem with people like you is that they are so jaded that they proclaim every video that they don't understand to be faked or staged.

You are very wrong about this clip and, in my opinion, very naive about the workings of creatures in natural settings.

The behaviour in this video is very real, given the situation. The bear is either curious or possibly looking for a quick snack of the cub. He's never encountered a mama mountain line defending her young before, so when she attacks, he is defiant at first, becomes confused when she won't back down, and retreats when it becomes obvious that she is more of a threat than he figured.

The mama lion is also reacting naturally. The *only* way that a lion like this would ever confront a bear of this size would be in defense of her young. A mom defending her young in situations like this one are at their fiercest and most dangerous. They will not back down in the face of overwhelming odds. This is a fact of nature that the bear finally figured out as he ran away.

Sometimes clips here are real. Sometimes they're not. This one is.

The main clip is real. The closeups of the bear and lion roaring at each other, along with the closeup of the cub are clips that were edited into the situation to make it look more dramatic for television.

ur sister got a cat from hell too !? my sister too it has only one eye (empty hole where the eye should be) and the biggest claws ever :S

guess it's how we raise them! She has a disposition that is incredible. ...but, she DOES want to catch my LOVEBIRDS! (though lovebirds are pretty tough little ones!)

Awww....! I'd like some too.. do they make a racket? or is it like humans.. some do some don't?

but of course with so many of them its understandable! I like to tell people "l raise LOVEBIRDS, and that says A LOT about ME!"

Believe it or not dogs are very distantly related to cats heard this on t.v.....can't believe it. Don't know how they come to that conclusion..

It was the dog owner's fault that his dogs were injured like that, I hope didn't try to sue you or even try to get the cat put down (nowadays everyone's motto seems to be "Sue the world!"

It was just a 50 kg puma against 400 kg bear.
Obvioulsy the bear was not in the mood, cause he realy could have shreded the puma ih he had been vicious and mean to the deal.
Anyway 50 kg puma (mountain lion like you americans say) is not the same as 250 kg tiger.
But anyway a mother will defend it's cub even in most ridicioulus circumstances.
