Rough Trade is the legendary punk-music shop founded in 1976 by Jeff Travis in London's Notting Hill. Punk-rock and reggae fan Jeff wanted to open a shop that sold his favourite music. Nowadays, Rough Trade also sells obscure genres such as click house and bastard pop - but no mainstream pop. If you're lucky you might bump into a music celebrity such as S'Express, Ed from the Chemical Brothers, DJ Lotti or supermodel Kate Moss. Originally the shop was linked to the Rough Trade Records label, which signed bands such as Stiff Little Fingers, but the two are now separate entities. Rota organises live indie sessions in conjunction with Rough Trade.
