Sugarcoma are nu-metal newcomers from East London. The three girls and one boy got together in 1999 when they were all 15 and have stayed together through thick and thin. Their album ‘Becoming Something Else' is released by Music For Nations. The band made their breakthrough with a nu-metal version of Britney's ‘Crazy'. Sugarcoma dream of going wild on tour and playing live at a boxing match. According to frontwoman Jess, boxing and nu metal work well together. Both are fast, aggressive and make you sweat. The east London four-piece recommend York Hall in Bethnal Green, where east London's hardest boxing matches take place. York Hall opened in 1929. The notorious gangsters the Kray brothers used to fight here. Nowadays there are weekly amateur and professional boxing matches. York Hall is the stepping stone into the world of Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson. If you are not in the mood for muscles, sweat and hard fists, you can refresh yourself in the bar with cheap drinks or buy boxing kitsch in the foyer.
