Mitja is a Berlin house institution, who was a resident DJ at the WMF and Tresor clubs. His mix CDs are released by Tresor and WMF records. Additionally, Mitja works his own tracks for the label Blaou in his home studio. Mitja's new night is for real fans, who are not exclusively into Berlin electro and yuppie house. His set is influenced by Californian and English house. DJ Sneak and Terry Francis from London's Fabric club are firm favourites of Mitja's. At Wednesday's sound-night, he presents soulful and percussion based sounds. A relaxed door policy and cheap entry at the sterling lounge guarantee this to be the congregation place for the trendy people of Mitte, Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. At his parties, house music meets the Berlin punk attitude. At sounds' opening night, cola & schnapps cocktails were served as chill out drinks. Mitja and his girlfriend Soffy O share a broadminded taste in music. Soffy became known as the singer of electro band Toktok. In collaboration with Berlin street painters Jim Avignon & Dag, Mitja toured Germany on their lazy-club tour. Originally, he started as a hip-hop DJ, but perceived the Berlin scene as too violent when he was threatened with a knife during a hip hop set.
